If the credit crunch hits harder, it may go the other way.

I find it hard to believe that anyone can spend 12 years driving a car (daily commute? in California?) and not have any kind of even minor damage. Did the bubble wrap have to come off?

I'm a very good driver. I pay attention to other cars on the road and get out of the idiot's way long before they have a chance to do something stupid. I'm avoid driving in a pack of cars on the freeway as a rule. I don't pace large trucks (which a startling percentage of drivers do habitually without realizing it). I don't fight traffic in parking lots (usually just head to the back of the lot first thing). It basically took a freak occurrence to put a scratch on my car.

Not like the paint wasn't fading anyway, but gouges are a bit harder to fix...

Oh! My Monday just got better! I DID get the referral to a specialist in Oklahoma City. After the appt MrKatie and I headed down to Sam's to stock up our fridge and ran into our land lord. We told him we're breaking the lease. He gave us no grief. Now here's to hoping the other shoe doesn't drop.

Katie is PHAT, Katie can't cook. While I could rival her in the boob section she is much hotter than me.

1. I'm not the kind of girl that lets other people "land her a job".
2. The kind of girl that is, isn't Smash's type.

In Massachusetts? If I assume correctly that you are looking to come down here. I agree, it is really tough times around here. There is a budget crisis and they cut out like a billion. Not only have they frozen jobs, people have to take furloughs and they've been working to get people into early retirement. I think it'll get better though. People are predicting that things will get better early next year. But it's tough right now. Good luck. I'm sure you'll get something soon.

I haven't become so desperate that I'm ready to aspire to Dean Koontz. Maybe in another couple of months.

The hiring freeze has been really hitting my fiance too . . . he's been applying for jobs since last spring, and the only thing he has confirmed is a one semester gig at the university he just graduated from for adjunct professor since a TA quit unexpectedly.

Things will, in theory, be easier now that he actually has the title and will have the matching degree in three weeks. And since he's not frantically writing, he's set the goal of an application a day until he gets hired.

(If you know of any companies looking for qualitative/quantitative researchers, let me know. He does both.)

Me, I'm just trying not to lose my job. Considering I just got a reserved assigned parking spot a few weeks back, I'm not terribly worried, but business is so slow that the recent company expansion is probably going to deflate again soon, and they're gonna have to trim off the fat.
