Hubby's car broke down on his way to work this morning. Had to go get him and have the car towed to our mechanic's. And then on the way home, we got rear-ended.

Massive headache from the hassles of this morning and there is a certain someone here at my office that I'm about to murder.

Hrm.

I got out of bed at 9 this morning...my alarm is set for 7 and I'm supposed to be at work by 8:30. Stumbling into the kitchen I find a nice hot pot of clear water in the coffeemaker. Methinks I forgot a step in the preparation last night...

I'm having a fantastic morning. I had to drive to our machine assembly lab a few blocks away this morning. I thought for sure that would mean that when I got back, I'd have to park hella far away from my building (convenient parking is at a premium on my company's main campus), but when I got back I was able to park in the same lot about a dozen spaces away. I went and met a friend for lunch, fearing that I'd lose my space again, but was again able to park in the same lot.

Tomorrow is basically Friday for me, and Wednesday is Friday for most of you, so buck up! Time off and turkey for all soon.

Monday has been swell so far. Found out the contract went through for our new house. We will very shortly own 2 houses! 3 more to go to meet my goal for 4 years. My boss offered me some fluff work to help increase my hours. I love that lady! Found a loop hole in the contract on our rental from hell. We've sent 2 complaints and no work has been done to fix anything so now we get to break our contract. WEE! Have my appointment with the gyno today so hopefully I'll have either a referral to a specialist or a doctor who really wants to follow up my treatments. Oh and Husby just got home! WEEE!

Bummer:(

I'm pretty content this morning.

I made up a stew last night and had it in the crock pot, ready-to-roll. I just had to turn it on this morning. It's nice to not have to even have the discussion about who's making what for dinner.

My condolences to those of you having a rough morning.

Myself, I'm still grinning ear to ear from watching the Raiders humiliate the Broncos on their home turf yesterday. On top of that, I'm in a tie for first place for the football pool, and as long as the combined score tonight is over 50 points then I should win $60. I also resolved a 2 week long issue I had with my backup system at work.

Nearly anywhere I've put an application in over the past two months has instituted a hiring freeze.

I called my boss out on his stupidity on Friday. He started cursing at me repeatedly and at one point said..

"If you don't like it, you can get the hell... <short dramatic pause>... over it. I'll see you in my office at 9:00am sharp on Monday. Smiley: mad"

We talked for 2 hours this morning and I'm hopeful that I'll receive a bonus and a raise within a few months, based on the outcome of that conversation. He also agreed to sign up for some tech classes at the local community college. All in all, it's been a decent day so far. I half expected to be giving my two weeks notice this morning.

Sorry to hear yours sucks though. Smiley: frown

Thanks. It really sucks. I'm taking a class in the spring just to defer my student loan costs. I've started applying for secretarial positions.

It was zero/zero outside this morning in Merced due to fog-- perhaps why you got rear-ended, Thumbs --so I briefly checked out my aircraft and quickly settled in for a long winter's nap. About two hours worth of long.

/contented sigh

The perfect beginning to a day of work.

I went to dermatologist this morning, so I had the morning free of Kids (yay) and on the way home decided to pick up some red color and go back to being a redhead. I forgot how much I missed my red hair.

I buzzed my hair last night. The wind was a bit brisk on the ol' scalp this morning.

Nope, back in sunny San Diego now. No Tule fog to deal with down here! It was clear as a bell. The lady said she just wasn't paying attention.

My Monday so far:

******** (receiver, not giver - in before NixNot)
Cigarette
Coffee
********
Scenic drive to work through dappled sunshiney countryside
Meetings
Left my boss's new uber-'spensive car standing when he challenged me to a 1 mile sprint
Home with the roof down (sunny, cold and 'good to be alive' weather)
Dinner
A few Dings at LoTRO
TV and Beer

Christ, it's good to be me.

Didn't get into an accident, but did manage to get the first "ding" on my car Friday. A van ahead of me and a lane over somehow kicked up something (looked like a piece of pipe or some other longish tubular object), smacked into the hood and bounced up into the windshield at about 80 mph. Amazingly, not a crack in the windshield, but there are a couple of nice divots/scrapes on the hood. Small, but I can see them and they bug me!

12 years driving this car without so much as a door ding. Grrrr... Not that I'm concerned about resale value or anything, but it's the principle of the thing.
