Sarah Palin Continues To EntertainFollow

Sarah Palin pardons a Turkey a week before anyone else. However, she kinda forgets where she is after and the dude behind her proceeds to slaughter a few birds while she's getting interviewed.

But hell, at least she answered some questions from the media.

Someone inform PETA that voting Republican is now tantamount to drowning a sack of kittens.

It just holds the turkey steady while a blade decapitates it. Putting a turkey (or a chicken, for that matter) head first in a funnel like that makes it not struggle while it's killed.

Fowl will indeed struggle for a bit when decapitated. Not long, but it doesn't take long to make a bloody mess. A more common technique for family farmers is to simply break their necks (it's really very easy). They die about as quickly but with no blood-flinging.

I heard about a chicken whose head was not detached down low enough. Enough of the brain stem was still attached to the spinal cord to control basic motor functions: i.e. it could still run around, the heart could beat, etc. It lived for a while before it died from starvation.

Oh god, that video is too perfectly hilarious. I thought it was fake for a minute.

I also love that MSNBC had to blur out the turkey carnage. The original broadcast is uncensored.

Also, the way that guy kept leering at Palin as he shoved the turkey into the grinder...reminded me of Caddyshack when Bill Murray is fantasizing about the women golfers as he pumps the ball washer.

The way that guy looked (and was looking at Sarah and the camera) was way creepier than what he was doing.

the creepiest part was, once again, her small-minded drivel that, for some reason, she, the media and too many others think we need to hear.

I tried to pay attention to the words, but it made no damn sense (typically).

My thoughts exactly.

I'm wracked with guilt, but not so much that I'm not going to enjoy every tender morsel I roast on Thursday, stuffed with delicious dressing.

Id like to see if she acknowledges how brutal that video was or apologizes or... anything. God this woman has been such great entertainment.. between shooting things from helicopters and having turkeys decapitated in the back round idk if they were trying to get a vice president elected or a warlord :P

How do you imagine that meat gets to the grocery store?

There was nothing offensive and nothing to apologize for. It was simply humorous imagery.

Well, it was offensive in the sense of what the Pardon is supposed to stand for. Part of the tradition of the pardoning of the turkey is that selected turkey remains unharmed for the rest of its life.

Having that same image coupled with the slaughter of the turkeys (even if not the same turkey) would be offensive to the tradition.

Yeah, not really. If anything it emphasized the point.

It's just funny. Let that be enough.
