RIP Mars PhoenixFollow

Phoenix Lander has lost communication with the earth. The lander lasted two months extra than they were planning for, but unlike her brothers the rovers Opportunity and Spirit, she cannot survive the harsh winter at the Martian north pole.

Summer will arrive again next October, but it is unlikely that Phoenix will be revived, as she will be coated in a layer of CO2 or water ice by then.

I've been following the feed from Phoenix on twitter, and it's like a good friend of mine just died. Poor lil' robot :(
