My Nephew is dead did he do it or you?!!!Follow

#1 Nov 10 2008 at 1:09 AM Rating: Sub-Default
I am emotionally devastated, My nephew of only 15 killed himself cause he was gay and was harrassed over and over!

If you like pu ssy that is your thing I can't believe this is happening in my life time, he put a gun to his mouth and pulled the triger and is no longer with us!

Is it his fault? hell no! do you idiots that think loving pus sy is correct enough for you to torture someone that doesn't? until they have to go to such meassures? I am gay I was lucky I had a b/f at 18 and I could careless what you think..

My question is this why can't you leave people alone? He did not hit on guys he was to young to know but you sure as hell had no problem throwing your hate on his dead cold body!!!

You will go to hell not him!

I only ask you as human beings to think before you attack someone too young to defend themselves emoitionally to back off please for one minute realise what you say and how you treat others can hurt! and even kill!

Erk, Tyllendel, pull out all the accusative "you"s, and put in "them", "Those", and "they". No-one here bullied your nephew. This is a very gay-friendly forum. If you feel inclined you can change the thread title as well, to "...did he do it, or them?"

Secondly, If you have to be very simplistic about it right now, of course it was society's fault as a whole, and not your nephew. There was nothing wrong with him being gay, and he should NOT have had to put up with being bullied for it.

To say you can blame society as a whole I'd really have to write a huge wall of text with lots of qualifiers and look at how individuals of varying positions affect the whole huge group, all the the formal and the informal institutions and interactions, to explain exactly what I mean by that. I hope you can get my drift without it.

Gay friendly people in general were not to blame, Homophobes in general had a little partial blame. You can't blame the homophobes who think it's all icky, but are prepared to live-and-let live. Those guys in fact are pretty good guys and wouldn't outwardly say anything, or physically intimidate or hurt a gay person. They didn't contribute to a general social attitude in some areas and pockets that's it's ok to hurt gays.

The people to really focus your anger on are the actual people who bullied your nephew, and their parents and school-teachers, who did not teach them any better, or know what their children were up to.

First off, sorry to hear about your nephew.

Now: two cents.

I highly doubt anyone on here is responsible. I suggest turning your grief into something productive; something that works toward gay equality/acceptance in your own society. That might be a better way to honor your nephew's memory.

People almost always kill themselves for very stupid reasons. Being bullied is one of them.

It's sad, but people very rarely get "forced" to commit suicide. If your nephew killed himself because people made fun of his sexuality I wager that he had deeper problems. I have every sympathy for you, but suicide's just...sad, and incredibly painful to see happen. You can thrash around and try to blame some faceless outside force for driving him to it but ultimately you're trying to avoid blaming your nephew.

Also, why is this being posted here? We have like, two or three homophobes max, and no-one likes them. This is being framed like some accusatory open letter.

Too bad there was a handgun around that he could use. Maybe its the fault of the person who had the gun available.
If he had tried to cut his wrist maybe he would have failed and been able to reach the counseling he needed.

At this point, the post is nearly spam IMO.

I did it.

I personally bullied your nephew into killing himself.

I also bullied and harassed every other self-loathing loser that ever ate a bullet because he was too weak to deal with life.

I am responsible.

I knew it was wrong, and I did it anyway. I'm just evil that way.

Have a nice day.

That being said, he can hold his ghostly head high over the kid who died because his X-Box was taken away.

The OP looks real to me. It's stereotyping to expect all gays to be literate and well-spoken.

Mind you, the gays in Oz talk about ******, gash and slash more than pussy if they are going to mention that icky thing.

Reading comp for the win. OP is saying someone killed themselves because they were gay, not that the OP was gay himself. Either way this thread is full of lose. Sorry but I can not garner any sympathy if some random person comes in to a gaming website to erratically post about a relative killing themselves and looking to point fingers at anonomous people. If anything, it's elicited a yawn. Now if the person drank bleach to off themselves I may be more inclined to pay attention. But all I see is some really bad trolling going on, or a really pathetic way to vent frustration and start to a me v.s the world mentality

Especially since we're pretty tolerant, open-minded people on this forum.

Not to mention MMO-addicted geeky nerds, which aren't usually the biggest component of the gay-bashing constituency.
