great game. they did a fantastic job making grouping really easy and painless. too bad EQ1 couldnt have figured out as much. to bad EQ2 still cant figure it out.
no one really groups much, mind you, but it is easy if you want to.
the pvp instances included. they one upped WoW by letting you sign up for any or all pvp instances you qualify for (level), from anywhere in the world. ports you in, sends you right back to where you came from when its over. most are less than 15 min long.
1 on 1, a melee can pretty much own a caster all day long. snares and roots are like 10 seconds long, and they can hit harder than some of your spells but they have ac and you dont.
csters pretty much suck.
the rogue classes are pretty mean. 50/50 live or die with a tank class. 80/20 with a caster. beginning to think EQ1 is the first and last place casters will be any fun to play.
got to level 23, and just not interested in doing the quests or pvp any more. was fun. was new. just not enough to keep me comming back. certainly better than conan. vanguard had more depth, but not to many people want to group so it was dead in the water before it launched. the pvp just gets old....fast.
recommend it. was a good distraction for a few weeks and thats more than you get from a FPS usually. relies to heavily on pvp IMO, but its painless to participate in and the xp is better in pvp than pve.
next up, spellborn.
no dwarfs, silly graphics, but just cant bring myself to play WoW anymore new expansion or not.
