Yeah. I'm playing through as an evil character (my good character is level 17) and I convinced her to stop writing the survival guide. I actually felt pity for her character and the way she reacts as you make her give up the guide. Also, I hate Deathclaws.
Recommendation: Go through the Deathclaw Sanctuary with the lights
on.
As for choosing your skills, not including the perks, it is relatively easy to get skills to 100. I'm 17 on my evil character and have repair, small guns, lockpick, speech, sneak @ 100 and big guns, medicine, and science close. It also helps to know that if you really want to cap more of your skills, the games version of easter eggs--bobbleheads--raise skills by 10 and S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats by 1.
Very fun game, I just wish the NPC's had more dialogue. The Harold and Dave scenes are probably my favorites. Also, one of the robots you encounter near the end is awesome.
