Where are they eating them?

They're so secretive!

Palin was an absolutely horrible choice for a VP pick. This is coming from someone who campaigned quite heavily for McCain. She was NOT the reason why he lost the election though.

I don't think Republicans are eating their young here either. They are just calling her out for being an idiot. There's nothing wrong with that.
They put her there. If anyone's to blame, its them.

What's most disturbing to me is that she became a Governor before ever being asked into McCain's campaign.

I'd ask how that happened, but then I remember a wrestler once......

Absolutely, I do not disagree. McCain's campaign obviously did not do their homework on her. I think they moved to quickly to try to snatch up the pissed off Hillary supporters...and it backfired, big time.

As I look back, McCain had zero chance at winning. Obama's rockstar image as well as McCain's mistakes were just too much to overcome. This election was also the inditement of all Republicans due to 8 years of failed Bush policy.

Bush was certainly a factor. I have no question at all about that.

However, the party has some serious internal schisms (schismata?) that y'all are going to need to resolve somehow.

But I'm not going to deny that Palin looks good, and has great legs.

She's kept herself fit.

Her face, though, does nothing for me.

My main question on the Palin issue as a non American is: Would Condi Rice not VP for McCain or did he not want her?

I heard an unsubstantiated rumor that she was not interested.

Condi wants to run the 49ers. She says it's her life long dream.

"In response to the allegations that she was ill-prepared for interviews and debate, Randy Scheunemann, an aide assigned to Palin, called her "brilliant" and said she has a "photographic memory."

Maybe she needs to clean that camera lens if she can't seem to remember the newspapers she reads.

For everything that is good and admirable about Condi that would make her a terrific candidate, she had one inescapable albatross hanging around her neck: Dubya. Her connection to the Bush adminstration was an anchor which could not have been severed.

I think Palin's problem was a little too much of this bRandy and not enough research.

Newsweek has a teaser from their upcoming "How He Did It" special edition. From it...
Newsweek wrote:
Palin launched her attack on Obama's association with William Ayers, the former Weather Underground bomber, before the campaign had finalized a plan to raise the issue. McCain's advisers were working on a strategy that they hoped to unveil the following week, but McCain had not signed off on it, and top adviser Mark Salter was resisting.
[...]
The Obama campaign was provided with reports from the Secret Service showing a sharp and disturbing increase in threats to Obama in September and early October, at the same time that many crowds at Palin rallies became more frenzied. Michelle Obama was shaken by the vituperative crowds and the hot rhetoric from the GOP candidates. "Why would they try to make people hate us?" Michelle asked a top campaign aide.
Classy move, *****.

Edit: I flipped the bulletpoints from the original article. The linked article's second page is a collection of points regarding all the candidates.

Edit II: The whole article is now up. Seven chapters worth.

A guy I work with (very right, very religious) told me today that Palin was a "highly intelligent woman".

I haven't yet asked him how old he believes the Earth is... but I think I know the answer.
