Now that the curtain has dropped, all the nasty reports are coming out about Palin and how she helped fuck the whole thing up.
ABC wrote:
Revelations from anonymous critics from within the McCain-Palin campaign suggest a number of complaints about the Alaskan governor:

Fox News reports that Palin didn't know Africa was a continent and did not know the member nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement -- the United States, Mexico and Canada -- when she was picked for vice president.

The New York Times reports that McCain aides were outraged when Palin staffers scheduled her to speak with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, a conversation that turned out to be a radio station prank.

Newsweek reports that Palin spent far more than the previously reported $150,000 on clothes for herself and her family.

Several publications say she irked the McCain campaign by asking to make her own concession speech on election night.
The lump sum of the reports is that Palin was a dumb-as-a-stump diva who drove off independents/moderates and who had no legitimate place as next in line to the presidency. Now that the race is over, those on the inside are happy to tear her apart for costing them their chance at greatness. Boy, not only will Palin be as hated on the Left as H. Clinton is (was?) on the Right but now a portion of the Right will hate Palin as well!

Whoever would have guessed that Palin would be bad for the ticket? Smiley: wink2

I heard an interview on NPR this morning with a McCain campaign adviser that got fired last July over differences of opinion. That's about when the campaign took a nosedive, in my opinion. It would have been a far closer race if they'd stayed away from the ******** attack ads and sensationalism, and stuck to their actual party rhetoric. Then again, that would have put the public eye on their actual party rhetoric, so I suppose they did the best they could with what they had. Smiley: laugh

nope. wouldnt have mattered. it was to a point where the republicans knew they were going to loose. the inside polls showed they would loose more seats to the house and senate and that the dems would beat them to 270 BEFORE the republican convention.

they did the numbers with romney and a few other vice picks and all came up short on the electorial map.

republicans were turning on the republicans. and they knew it. that is why mccain surged ahead of romney and the preacher, whatever his name was. they were not only loosing the base, the moderates were switching sides.

palin was a hail mary pick. she brought some of the base back with her with the hard right rehtoric coming out of her mouth and the dem slamming which the hard right wanted to hear but wasnt getting out of mccain. in the end, she started falling apart, but they knew the math was against them with either romney or the hand full of other picks they were considering. palin was a wild card. they played it because the math said they were out of the game.

the mud slinging, so out of character for mccain if you compare it to his campaign against bush, was more of the same. pulling out all the stops, throwing everything against the wall. they were firing everything they had, including their wild card.

the repubs were going to loose big. one of the reasons im sure hilary was so bent. it was now or never and she knew it.

toss in that FINNALLY the dems delivered the best candidate i have witnessed in my lifetime.......hasta la vista babe. dont let the door hit you in the **** on the way out.

but short of a carter or someone really really lame, it was the dems to loose from the beginning.

didnt have as much to do with the democratic candidate as it did with the **** POOR performance of the republican party over the last 8 years, 6 of which they owned the house and senate too.

Obama is the man. he will make history just by being there. he can reach not only across the isle, but across oceans. no longer will our allies and enemys alike view us as the starch white blue blood good ole boys club. the entre world will see that we truly are, inspite of what the republicans have done to our reputation, the land of promise. a land where all are equal. a land where your destiny is in your own hands and not big brothers.

Obama screams to the world the promise of the american dream. without saying a word. and when he does speak, he reeks of intellegance, thoughtfullness, and the promise of hope beyond not only party lines, but beyond borders and oceans.

Obama is a once in a lifetime leader.

and we can thank the **** poor republicans for helping to deliver him effortlessly.

think about this and im sure it will make a right winger wreath with hate and anger..........Hillary put up a better fight........

At least this ******* learned to start off proper names with a capital letter. Can you now do it at the beginning of a sentence? People might take you more seriously if you had proper English skills. Actually, no the wouldn't...you would still suck.

I know Palin is a joke and all but if McCain would have won these same people would be saying she helped him win. *shrug*

I wonder if things would have worked out better (maybe still not won, but better) if McCain didn't take Huckabee instead of Palin. You still have a congenial, popular social conservative (albeit one without tits -- not since he lost the weight anyway) but you wouldn't have had the "no experience, who the fuck is this?" backlash. Yeah, less fire at the convention but what heat you did get would have been more sustaining than Palin's bright and quick burning flame which soon dimmed in the eyes of the moderate voters.

Hell, even Flea liked the guy when he was speaking, although she hated his immigration policies. And I think he could have used his post-Wright opinions for real credentials among independents. I'm not saying he;d have been a great VP, but he might have made a better long-term conservative pick than Palin did.

My wife still thinks that Palin was a boon to the Pubs. I tried to convince her that, while picking a female was a good move, she specifically was damaging. Imagine, for example, if Hellbeast was VP candidate (ok, if she switched parties, for this discussion) would have been much better.

She says I don't understand because I'm not a woman...

And accused someone else of not understanding because they're not a woman. Smiley: frown

Once upon a time, I thought it would be amazing to have either a (half) black president or a woman vice president. As time went on, I realized that it really really matters who that woman is. I'm afraid that, had she won, the (not widely accepted) stereotype of women being flighty and stupid would've perpetuated.

Yeah, pretty hard to continue discussion against that stance. Apparently she knows more than political commentators, journalists and polls.

She's toast as a politician.

The idea that she'll somehow be president in 2012 is laughable.

Well, it looks like President-elect Obama showed her what a "community organizer" can do. You know, things like sending Palin back to her community.

With all due respect, no, she isn't.

Feminism is not simply fangirlism for anyone with boobs.

Palin would set women back fifty years given half a chance.
