I heard an interview on NPR this morning with a McCain campaign adviser that got fired last July over differences of opinion. That's about when the campaign took a nosedive, in my opinion. It would have been a far closer race if they'd stayed away from the bullsh*t attack ads and sensationalism, and stuck to their actual party rhetoric. Then again, that would have put the public eye on their actual party rhetoric, so I suppose they did the best they could with what they had.

nope. wouldnt have mattered. it was to a point where the republicans knew they were going to loose. the inside polls showed they would loose more seats to the house and senate and that the dems would beat them to 270 BEFORE the republican convention.
they did the numbers with romney and a few other vice picks and all came up short on the electorial map.
republicans were turning on the republicans. and they knew it. that is why mccain surged ahead of romney and the preacher, whatever his name was. they were not only loosing the base, the moderates were switching sides.
palin was a hail mary pick. she brought some of the base back with her with the hard right rehtoric coming out of her mouth and the dem slamming which the hard right wanted to hear but wasnt getting out of mccain. in the end, she started falling apart, but they knew the math was against them with either romney or the hand full of other picks they were considering. palin was a wild card. they played it because the math said they were out of the game.
the mud slinging, so out of character for mccain if you compare it to his campaign against bush, was more of the same. pulling out all the stops, throwing everything against the wall. they were firing everything they had, including their wild card.
the repubs were going to loose big. one of the reasons im sure hilary was so bent. it was now or never and she knew it.
toss in that FINNALLY the dems delivered the best candidate i have witnessed in my lifetime.......hasta la vista babe. dont let the door hit you in the **** on the way out.
but short of a carter or someone really really lame, it was the dems to loose from the beginning.
didnt have as much to do with the democratic candidate as it did with the **** POOR performance of the republican party over the last 8 years, 6 of which they owned the house and senate too.
Obama is the man. he will make history just by being there. he can reach not only across the isle, but across oceans. no longer will our allies and enemys alike view us as the starch white blue blood good ole boys club. the entre world will see that we truly are, inspite of what the republicans have done to our reputation, the land of promise. a land where all are equal. a land where your destiny is in your own hands and not big brothers.
Obama screams to the world the promise of the american dream. without saying a word. and when he does speak, he reeks of intellegance, thoughtfullness, and the promise of hope beyond not only party lines, but beyond borders and oceans.
Obama is a once in a lifetime leader.
and we can thank the **** poor republicans for helping to deliver him effortlessly.
think about this and im sure it will make a right winger wreath with hate and anger..........Hillary put up a better fight........
