In sumation politics...Follow

It is really easy for me. I sum it up in a very simple metaphor. Growing the United States is like growing a tree.

66% of all Democrats believe if you grow the roots you grow the tree. They prefer to feed the water (government dollars) to the base of the tree in order to make it florish. They figure if the bottom 33% of the tree is fed water it will grow and flourish and thus the nation. (this would include people like Biden, Gore, the Clintons, Obama etc)

66% of all Republicans believe that if you feed the top 1/10 of 1% you grow the tree. They call this trickle down economics. If you deregulate everything and allow the free market to govern things then the tree will grow and flourish. Most of these people will never even be in the top 10% yet they aspire to be and thus ignore anyone in their way. (this would include people like Bush, Cheney, Rove, Aailin and his twin, Kebkin, etc)

33% of all Republicans believe that things like abortion, gay marriage, capital punishment, guns for everyone,or are former/current military and think that Democrats will destroy the miltary. These things are so important to them and they will vote Republican despite all evidence to how they themselves or the country would be better off if the tree was fed from its base. (McCain and Palin are prime examples imho)

30% of Democrats are democrats for the aposite reason. They are gay, pro choice, etc and feel no matter how they would best be served if these beliefs are served above their self interest or that of their country. ( Rosie Odonnel is a prime example)

3% of Democrats are in it to win it. The want to cash in quick and live for free forever off other people. They really should be among the 66% of Republicans but they are aware or self serving enough to realize that they can cash in quicker if they take advantage of people who tend towards trust. These are the examples that the 66% of Republicans toss in our faces, of course ignoring the fact that most of the party is more pro America and group acheivement then they are or have ever been.

The remaining 2% are the people who will decide our next president. They are basically independent and live in swing states. They vary on views and may come down hard if persuaded for or against on one issue.

The economy will be the decider this election and Bush and his 66% has caused its failure, they tosed up a 33% Republican in the hopes of some form of keeping power but.....

Again imho, win to Obama it maybe because I am in the 66% Democrats and think that feeding the base of the tree will help it flourish and thus our country. Trust me he was not my first choice but he is legitimately in the 66% of Democrats.

Certianly there are things beyond control in growing a tree. You can water the **** out of the base and have a 9/11. You cannot control sunlight other then like not planting it in the shade. These things are left to God and he will decide them no matter what you do. However I firmly believe that watering the top 1/10 of 1% of the leaves will not make the tree grow and thus I am a democrat.

Again, I admit back when I was young and cared more about myself then others I was in the 66% Republican camp. The Reagan days of Gordon Grecko were a heady time, and I was inclined to revel in that belief. But greed is not good and has destroyed our economy to forsake your other man completely is what has caused this catastrophe ( no I am not saying that self motivation or success should be removed completely, but like our bill of rights protects the minority from the abuse of the majority, the inverse must also hold true the rights of minority to succede must not be done at the sake of the majority. yes it is a balance that must be protected and one upon which we should watch, but the shift in wealth under Bush from poor/middle to rich has been greater then any other time in our history to my knowledge).

Yes I am aware that many of you will quote me out of context here. For my part I say it is worth it. I myself didnt give to charity besides my church until I could afford it. I do now but when you are making 100 million a year giving 2% away doesnt mean as much yet lets you feel better about yourself in thinking HEY I do care about others you prick!!! When you are making 15k a year or 30k as a family try giving away that same 2%. The poor do not feel less about the plight of their fellow man they simply do not have the means. Do I now start to hate Bill Clinton because he wants to give away more to these same poor people in the form of taxes or in defense of our country? Is caring for your other man or country only ok when you choose to? That is the only agenda, really, that most Democrats have, they want to care for the poor and the sick and the homeless and offer them opportunity to one day be proudly in the middle of the trunk of the tree that is America. The majority of Republicans want to secure their places high up in the leaves by denying them this very same opportunity, of course they do toss them the occasional handout when they can afford it or when they choose too. Oh god I cannot afford the beach house payments in St. Barts!!!! What about my Bentley!!! Democrats propose the ideal that the American Dream can be had by everyone, Republicans propse that the American ideal can be had by them and that anyone else not them is a bloodsucking leech.

If I wanted to be like the Tweedles( a couple dumbasses one my normal board, one who when getting his gbaji *** kicked summoned his supposed "brother" to defend him as he could no longer hold his beliefs on his own.) I could easily convince my father the Vietnam Vet, ex airline pilot to mimic my beliefs here, but I believe my beliefs stand on their own and I need no chest bumping, Tom Cruise Topgun highfive/lowfive moments to be invested in my beliefs.

(self post but from another board should summarize my beliefs all the same without me having to retype them)

PS.. Gbaji kudos to you. Never have you resorted to lameass retorts like all the anon people on this board PM in support of how I am right and you are wrong or here is my RL brother to mimic my beliefs.

PPS damn you Smash for getting banned from FV board=P

I do believe this was the most retarded use of a metaphor in all of existance.

Why yes, yes it was.

It started out good but quickly got stretched.

To simplify it, Republicans believe a healthy tree grows from the top down. Democrats believe that a healthy tree grows from the bottom up.

In reality, a tree grows from the inside out. All new growth on a tree, from the roots to the tips, grows layer by layer, like a patina of plant cells. The roots support it, the leafy crown gives it energy.
