Michelle Obama's choice of dressFollow

Michelle needs to find a new dresser. That black/red spray painted black widow design is awful. I'm a dude and I can recognise butt ugly when I see it-- and I'm chromosonally and genetically unable to normally distinguish good from bad in clothing, but I know U-G-L-Y when it slaps me in the face.

Michelle is quite a good dresser and has fantastic biceps but I understand the moment of equanimity has passed.

C'mon, would you wear that in public? Biden's wife's choice was fine, but the whole sideways hourglass design was not kind to Michelle's hips, not mention my eyes.

That being said, Obama's suit looked good. Biden's tie looked even better.

You're like a drunk 18 year old guy at his first frat party.

I couldn't get a good look at the younger brunette girl/woman in the blue dress with them. Was that Biden's daughter? She looked quite a bit younger than 27...

Yeah it was odd. Definitely also noticed the black widow theme.

If you were really drunk, would you kind of make out with Obama, just a little? What about Biden?

Ummm, no. That's a Bhodi question. He'd hit it seven ways from Sunday, but I'm as straight as a groomed poodle owner can be.

Are you happy you are moving out of the country?

Well, I don't plan to move out of country, but should taxes become overly onerous, I might consider relocating to a state with no state income tax. Alaska, Delaware, and Tennessee are looking pretty good right now.

I thought it was a perfectly atrocious dress too. I couldn't even understand what it was. Was that a jacket wrapped around a red dress? Or was it intentionally made that way?

Their colors were red and black, as if to say, sorry UGA, we know Athens tried, but you couldn't deliver Georgia.

I don't think the dress was really that ugly, but it wasn't the most flattering she's worn.

It wasn't that important, but I did indeed notice her dress and decided it was ugly. Made her look like a Red-Back spider, to this Australian.

Sarah Palin's peacock blue form-fitting suit was beautiful. McCain's wife's gold suit was very classical in a 60's way, harping back to Jacki-Kennedy/Queen Elizabeth II, and was kinda nice in itself, but I thought it was a bit of a shapeless sack and an odd choice when she totally has the figure to carry off a more hour-glass form-fitting style.

All those family members coming out together all looked great together, but the bullet-proof glass covering just a small portion of the stage made me feel kinda anxious. Why have it at all if it protected so little? Was it a sight-line issue?

The people directly in front of Obama for like a mile ahead had to purchase a ticket and go through metal detectors. The sides of the stage were closer to the edge of the park, hence the glass.

There were also security heliocoptors circling overhead like sharks to prevent aerial snipers. You could hear them a few times during the speech.

Obama's dress? Did you not see Mccain's wife's dress?

My wife cursed Michelle; as soon as she saw the dress she goes "wow, shes pregnant!" and whenever my wife says that, BAM! woman has a baby.

Michelle Obama has a different aesthetic. The dress was Narciso Rodriguez with a black shrug over it. She may not have meant to wear the shrug since it was balmy out, but then it got pretty nippy by the time the Future First Family came out, and she may have just thrown it over. She dresses herself, although I guess that will change.

I liked it, but I'm not the most classic dresser.

I liked it, mainly that it looked different than the plain formal clothing most politicians and their wives wear. And, it had more than one color >.>

I didn't like her dress. It was just plain ugly. Also, for some reason, the lighting, the cameras, whatever, caused the dress gave off a terrible glare and appear out of focus.

While I wasnt fond of the dress itself, I think the fact she wore something more trendy and not as statesmen like was daring, and yet another (very small and insignifigant) way to say that change is here.

I wasn't thrilled with it. I don't think it looked bad, but it didn't work under the lights.

Meh. She's not Nancy Reagan, and that's fine with me.

I wonder if that's why they went red and black, for the symbolism? Red has always been considered a power color, and it's true that Nancy Reagan is identified with it.

Maybe. In a lot of countries red is a color of luck and hope. Maybe his childhood in Indonesia was part of that? I dunno.

A red dress would have been a knockout on her. She can carry strong colors, with her height and skin tone.

It's also considered a color of mourning in some countries.
