I'm just wondering. How many of you are voting considering the international status of Obama or McCain? Are you just voting for a president to fix the economy? Or fix Americas image abroad?

From my perspective whoever you vote for has to be better than Bush. Even Palin ....

Palin is a somewhat less informed version of Bush that happens to have better speaking skills and lady parts. I'm almost positive the only notable difference between the two in office is we'd have a different flavor of hilarious quotes.

To answer your question, out of the 2 you offered... economy first, world image second.

Well, both. One without the other doesn't work well.

I mean just imagine if Palin becomes President; God, it's just so scary. I mean, I loved the movie Fargo, and Francis McDormand is a good actress, but I don't want her running the cnutry.

You wonder why I ask?

I just saw a show, where an american woman said: "They (rest of the world) have no idea what its like to live here".

I'm not even sure she realised that there are near 6 billion others to worry about that she has "no ******* idea" how offended they can be ...

Better hope Obama wins. He knows you have borders and not to **** off every other country, sheesh.

Is that all she said? Because if that's it, you're pretty damned thin-skinned.

"They have no idea what it's like to live here" sounds like a pretty neutral statement to me, no matter who said it.

Let's not discount the fact that it could've been Varrus himself.

Yes, I know that the Black Panthers are a fairly militant group, but...

Apparently, the Black Panthers wrote:
“We will be at the polls in the cities and counties in many states to ensure that the enemy does not sabotage the black vote, which was won through the blood of the martyrs of our people”

This seems like a simple enough cause to me. They claim they are there to ensure that African Americans are allowed to vote, and as long as they're not actually threatening anyone (which they apparently haven't), there's no reason to be stupid about it.

More text of the Panther's statment:

Quote:
Minister Najee Muhammad, national field marshal for the New Black Panther Party, and Uhuru Shakur, local chairman of the Atlanta chapter of the party, took turns reading statements from Dr. Malik Shabazz, leader of Black Lawyers for Justice and attorney for the party (yes, that Malik Shabazz)…

…”We will not allow some racists and other angry whites, who are upset over an impending Barack Obama presidential victory, to intimidate blacks at the polls,” Muhammad said. “Most certainly, we cannot allow these racist forces to slaughter our babies or commit other acts of violence against the black population, nor our black president.”

Muhammad added, “We must organize to counter and neutralize these threats using all means at our disposal. This is a great time for our people, and we must ensure that peace prevails for our people.”

Shakur said the New Black Panther Party does not hate white people, but it does not like racist white people who try to harm the black community…

…Shakur added, “We warn you, leave Barack Obama alone and leave our babies alone because black people are a spiritual people and a people who are trying to do right, and we will not hesitate to take up our legal rights of self-defense.”

Shakur said the New Black Panther Party believes the plot that was foiled in Crockett County was not an isolated incident and that the party will do what it can to protect members of the black community on Election Day.

“We will be at the polls in the cities and counties in many states to ensure that the enemy does not sabotage the black vote, which was won through the blood of the martyrs of our people,” he said.

As members of the New Black Panther Party said “Black Power,” Andrew Chirwa, an Alamo resident and native of Malawi in Southern Africa, urged everyone at the press conference to shout “Black Power” together.

I pulled this from Michelle Malkin, so obviously it's questionable. Here's an example of the enlightened responses to that particular news story:

some ******* douche wrote:
Oh, and by the way, I actually live in Philadelphia, I do have a permit to carry, and I will be carrying when I go to vote later on today….God help someone if they try to intimidate me..
perhaps the first shot of the second civil war…

So you apparently missed the memo about the two black panthers outside a polling place in Philadelphia one holding and threatening a white person with a night stick. There should not be ANY racist groups at any polling places, period.

With your logic then its perfectly acceptable to have Neo-***** and KKK outside polling places in case whites aren't discriminated against by anyone. Absurd.

Like I said, keep any racist groups AWAY from polling and keep it NEUTRAL.

I didn't see anything about him threatening anyone. He was there, he had a night stick, the (white) guy felt threatened.

Not the same thing.

Come on! This is absurd. Brandishing a weapon outside a polling place wearing a black panther shirt is acceptable to you? Sucking on the proverbial blacks aren't racists tit much and or the it's ok to be racist as long as your black? Keep anyone affiliated with racists organizations and anyone who even has a hint of intimidation AWAY from polling places.

In any case, he was asked to leave and he apparently did, along with the reporter who apparently peed himself at the sight of a black man.

There are a LARGE number of polling places that are held at Schools. Do you realize how intimidating it is to see a black person at a school!

No, the man who felt threatened called the police. The police came and "escorted" him off the premises. Can you downplay it any more? Asinine, this is unacceptable whether your black panther, KKK, Neo-****, or any racists organization. Get these @#%^ers AWAY from our POLLING PLACES. I do love your assumption that white people are still vastly racist, when in fact it's blacks who are vastly more racist than whites.

In other news, white guys are scared of black dudes with sticks.

In all fairness, the guy was there, the cops were called, the cops removed him. Life goes on. Here's a protip for everyone; sometimes people do things they aren't supposed to do.

Right, and the cops came and took that person away from the polling place. What are you complaining about, exactly?

Would that be your reaction if it was a KKK member outside a polling place brandishing a night stick? I really do get tired of these double-standards. There shouldn't be tolerance for any racism, whether your white, or black, or grey, or yellow.

Edit: Shouldn't

The obvious double-standards so blatantly seen today. Oh, its ok because hes black or its not that serious its a white guy. It's not ok for any racist to be outside polling places especially wearing "Black Panther" "KKK" or "Neo-****" T-shirts.
