First I'd like to say again that I'm NOT a fan of Obama. I think he is gonna continue doing the same stupid stuff that has been going on for years. I'd like to be surprised, but I doubt its gonna happen....But.....

I thought I'd take a look at what McCain is planning on doing with the economy.......

After a little perusing of his plans here I realsied that I really couldn't be ***** to read all of it Smiley: snore.

But!!

I did find this little gem...

Quote:
The McCain administration would reserve all savings from victory in the Iraq and Afghanistan
operations in the fight against Islamic extremists for reducing the deficit
. Since all their costs were
financed with deficit spending, all their savings must go to deficit reduction.

• A one-year spending pause. Freeze non-defense, non-veterans discretionary spending for a year and
use those savings for deficit reduction. A one-year pause in the growth of discretionary spending will
be imposed to allow for a comprehensive review of all spending programs. After the completion of a
comprehensive review of all programs, projects and activities of the federal government, we will
propose a plan to modernize, streamline, consolidate, reprioritize and, where needed, terminate
individual programs
.

If he is going to be basing the success of his economic plans on 'victory' in Iraq and Afghanistan, he's patently off his rocker.

What victory FFS? Eh? Am I reading this right? He's planning on rescuing the economy by using the savings from NOT fighting wars.? Arn't those wars being funded by borrowing piles of cash from other countries?? So he's going to use the borrowed cash that he doesnt spend on bombing brown folk to pay off the deficit after declaring victory in the war on terror???

But But But.....there is no victory in sight (not my sight anyway). Even if there was, how do you fix the deficit by saving money that you borrowed??

And the last bit.....

Sounds a lot like theres going to be some serious plans on terminating social services there. Re-proiritize? Does that mean that rather than spending money on health care and infrastructure he's going to end up spending it on chasing that elusive victory that is needed to fix the economy??

Holy Christ on a bike!! Obama could be Karl Marx reborn and he would still be preferable to McCains laughable 'ideas'.

Victory?! He's as delusional as Palin.

I'm utterly gob-smacked.

Now you see why Ol' Hopey is the better choice, even if it's the lesser of two evils?

Obama also wants to re-prioritize the budget, but instead of cutting out things like Medicare benefits, he's getting rid of abstinence-only-sex-education funding and crap that's been proven to not work.

I just saw something brilliant on the Colbert Report.

He brought on the actual socialist party candidate for president and asked him whether Obama is at all socialist. The REAL socialist said that, no, Obama is not AT ALL socialist... and that he's actually upset at McCain for misrepresenting socialism.

So the "Straight talk express" is gonna be in town tomorrow.

I guess he's trying to get the little votes Sandusky, Ohio has to offer. Which is like 25,000 and if you add in the township of Perkins and Castalia we've got about a total of 50k votes. I suppose any bit helps at this point he's down what, about 7% atm. So, yeah anything would help at this point.

Apparently both him and Palin are gonna be there so I'll tell ya what I hear. and I'll record/youtube post any fuck ups he may have. It could be good for a laugh.
