Let's learn the Middle-East with George Bush!Follow

Say what you want about wars, the killings, destructions, savagery, at least it's an effective way to learn about geography. Basra, Mosul, Kirkuk, Najaf, Fallujah, how many of us knew about these places before the war? Same can be said about Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-e-sharif, Jalalabad, all these places we've come to know and appreciate as though they were in our own backyard.

The great educator Mr Bush has apprently decided we should now learn about Syria!

Quote:
US military helicopters launched an extremely rare attack on Syrian territory close to the border with Iraq, killing eight people in a strike the government in Damascus condemned as "serious aggression".

A US military official said the raid by special forces targeted the network of al-Qa'ida-linked foreign fighters moving through Syria into Iraq.

The Americans have been unable to shut the network down in the area struck because Syria was out of the military's reach.

"We are taking matters into our own hands," said an official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The attack came just days after the commander of US forces in western Iraq said American troops were redoubling efforts to secure the Syrian border, which he called an "uncontrolled" gateway for fighters entering Iraq.

A Syrian government statement said the helicopters attacked the Sukkariyeh Farm near the town of Abu Kamal, five miles inside the Syrian border

Personally I'm a bit dissapointed, as I was hoping we'd learn more about Iran, but nevermind, I have no doubt the time will come for that.

So, is this Bush's parting gift to Obama? A third front on the war of terror?

And isn't this a bit silly since we're meant to be isolating Iran by bringing Syria to "our side"?

Fuckin'ell, I can't wait for November 5th...
