Oh come on, you couldn't, just once, let the ******* answer for himself? I really wanted to see if he could actually back it up or if he was just parroting.

Thanks Mindel, thanks a lot.

I thought the whole issue was who has the power to make a ruling on valid marriages. Marriage issues have always been left to the state (that's why a state judge performs the cerimony and declares the marriage valid by the power vested in him/her by the state of the ceremony, not the United States).
I don't think marriage is recognized as a religious ceremony by the state. Even if you get married by a religious leader in a church, you still have to sign the legal documents and get a license. I think the state has to treat it like a contract between two people because people who are married voluntarily share property with each other and the state would need to be able to make a ruling in cases where ownership of shared property isn't clear.
I like the saying: "Gay people have the right to be just as miserable as the rest of us."

Of course he was just parroting. Anyone who takes scripture literally can't have examined it with any real thought.

These chapters of Leviticus form part of the Holiness code. Leviticus 18:22 says:
“ Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; it is an abomination. ”

and Leviticus 20:13 states:
“ If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. ”
Just for the record. Its kinda in there. Not that I agree.

Now, are the translators sure that meant "lie with", as opposed to "lie to"?

'Cause I can totally seeing an old boys' club makin' a rule like that.

Actually, if you want to get all East-coast intellectual about it, looking at the Hebrew's pretty interesting. Generally, one wouldn't translate tobeah as "abomination." "Improper" is much more accurate. A strict interpretation of Lv. 18:22 in the context of Hebrew Leviticus would be "A [Jewish] man should not shtup another [Jewish] man because it's totally not cool." Of course, all of the laws in Leviticus technically apply only to Jews (meaning people who have entered the Covenant of Abraham), so Biblical rejections of homosexuality should not be applied to gentiles.

Since Christians have rejected the covenant (if you don't get your peener snipped or are not the daughter of a Jewish mother), the ****-lovin' should be a perfectly acceptable activity for Christ-humpers. Which is cool, because Jesus was totally ripped.

Hmmm I'm in the 3% Minority huh! Awesome lol, anyways, yea, I am very tolerant of other's beliefs, but I do have to say that the majority in the 85% majority are real ******** about "what you believe in". Everytime, it's either, your going to hell, or, are you serious!! Then I ask how stupid they must be to believe that we are the only intellectual species in the entire universe (Only say that to those idiots). Anyways! There are 3 states if I'm correct, that allow gay marriage, so if you want to get married then get married in that state. I don't care if your gay and are in a relationship, my ex-girlfriend had a gay brother, I didn't care, nor minded one bit. But, I still think that marriage should be between a Man and a Woman.

Oh, and let's not get into some crazy things Christians believe in, like video games creating violence, and music creating satanists (get ******* real, I listen to Black Metal, Death Metal, Melodic Death, and all sorts of metal ie Power / Folk / etc., but I'm atheist and still retain "traditional" christian morals that ironically many christians do not!)

That was a bit OT, well I'll leave it at that ;)

Jews often partake in eating unleavened bread. Also, they like tchotchke, a nice knish and the Catskills.

No, it's a style of Death Metal that evolved in Gothenburg, Sweden in the early 90s with bands such as At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity along with In Flames.

Now, such bands as Disarmonia Mundi, Omnium Gatherum, Wintersun, Skyfire, SuidAkrA, Raintime (Prog/MDM), Scar Symmetry, Soilwork, etc.

It is primarily in todays world lead by the Fins. Long live Helsinki!

Examples:

Early Sonic Syndicate - Soulstone Splinter

Eternal Tears of Sorrow - Aeon (My Favorite band)

I get tired of answering this for people. Yes, it's in the bible. Leviticus 18:22. It doesn't apply to rug nibblers like me, though. Apparently Jebus lurves the lesbians. Smiley: schooled

It's all just because back in the days before people understood reproduction, it was assumed that the man's seed was all that created life. Women could do what ever they wanted cause it couldn't create some abomination. But if a man put his seed somewhere other than a woman, evil things might happen!
