McCain's best performance by far. I'd now rate him as "*****".

McCain: (Dear in the headlights, spasms, creepy smile)

I think McCain was too busy reading his index cards last debate to remember that.

It's not his business yet - he's just considering buying it, and whether or not the tax rate for it goes up plays a role in his decision.

Even if he were to purchase the business tomorrow, the administration will not change until nearly February of next year. Coupled with the research into the far reaching effects of making massive changes to the tax code will surely result in this taking place sometime in the second year of Obama's administration, if at all. You really are giving a the benefit of the doubt on speedy legislation to an organization such as Congress.

How many plumbers make £250,000+ per year.

I know if I where making $250,000 I wouldn't be all that worried about my tax rate.

Now if I where earning $25,000 per year THEN I would be worried about my tax rate.

I think too people aren't considering Joe's employees (not that I give a **** about Joe, I hope we don't talk about Joe anymore after today). Why shouldn't Joe provide medical coverage for his employees? I thought that is what the fines are about. Why shouldn't they have the opportunity for health care?

Sure McCain says he'll give everyone a $5000 credit for health care, but the cost for a family plan like what I'm paying for is $12,000 a year (link). I'm going to go add up what I pay personally, but my employer pays a big chunk of that as well so I don't have to pay as much.

Yeah, the $5,000 a year for health insurance thing is a ******* joke. I currently pay $1501.76 a year for my health insurance coverage (pre-tax deduction), and my employer pays $10,667.02. My employer ALSO pays $416.00 a year for my dental insurance. I have only a $20.00 copay for most medical appointments, none for dental cleanings or follow up medical appointments. Oh, and the health insurance is for both Hannah and I.

Yeah um no, the only plumber that makes $250,000 a year is Mario.

The highest plumber wages top out at $52,000 a year, depending on years of experience and the area where he lives. (Source: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_does_a_plumber_earn_in_an_average_year). If you double that to $100K for Joe-The-Owner, he can still afford to hire three employees for $50K and fit under the $250,000 a year income bracket for the small business.

Not debate oriented but I don't feel like a new thread... Obama has the power to move Major League Baseball!
LA Times wrote:
Major League Baseball agreed Wednesday to push back the start time of Game 6 of the World Series by about 15 minutes so that Fox Broadcasting Co. could sell Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama half an hour of prime time on Oct. 29.

The campaign also has bought the same time period -- 8 p.m. on Oct. 29 -- on CBS and NBC so that he can run a 30-minute program on all of the networks. Each network is selling the time for between $950,000 to $1 million. Buying time on all of the major broadcast networks would allow Obama to reach more than 20 million people on the Wednesday before the election. A spokesman for Fox said the network will make available a similar 30-minute block of time for the Republican candidate, Sen. John McCain, if he chooses. Time for McCain would be either later that night (if there is no Game 6) or the following evening.
That leaves ABC as the only major network not showing The Obama Show that night. I'm sure they're in negotiations as we speak.

The bookies have spoken.

Quote:
DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ireland's biggest bookmaker Paddy Power said Thursday it would pay out early more than 1 million euros (782,776) on bets that Barack Obama will be the next U.S. president, three weeks ahead of the election.

The Dublin-based bookmaker said it made the "unprecedented decision" to pay on bets taken so far, following Wednesday's final campaign debate between Obama and his Republican rival John McCain, which polls judged the Democrat to have won.

"We declare this race well and truly over and congratulate all those who backed Obama," Power said.

obama aced it....as usual.

1. negative campaigning. mccain explained why personal attacks wer justified, and blamed it on obama for not showing up to his town hall events. obama explained that his attacks were only on mccains policy. mccain immediatly went on a rant of personal attacks and spitting the party line about airs and acorn.

obama just laughed. mccain just nailed himself to the wall and obama knew it. he didnt even bother responding. didnt need to.

2. appointing justices. mccain said NO LITMUS TEST then calmly explained how anyone who wasnt pro life would simply "not quality" for the position.

again, obama laughed. mccain nailed himself to the wall yet again.

3, joe the plumber . mccain want on a rant about increasing his taxes. obama calmly reeterated his position that small bussinees would not be affected. mccain went on another rant saying " joe plumber is rich now" trying to save his attack by showing that obama WOULD charge him if he was rich.

mccain came out looking like someone trying to throw stuff on a wall an hoping something stuck.

obama came out looking like joe cool with all the answers and a teflon suit nothing would stick to.

obama looked like a leader. a president. mccain looked like a sour grape raging at the machine.

I hate to say it but I literally laughed out loud when he started on the "Congratulations, Joe, you're rich!" rant. It was very crazy-old-man scary and bitter. It reminded me a lot of my ex's father.
