Yup. McCain has to pound one message to the voters: "Obama==Socialist". If he can connect Obama to his far left voting record and far left political buddies and make people question the Obama Koolaide, he's got this in the bag. If he can do it on economic issues, he's even more in the bag.
If he can't or doesn't, he's going to have a very very hard time. I really do think he's trying too hard to be nice. When the counter to Obama is to show that he's lying about what he's promising to the people, you can't sit there and say you respect the guy and that he's a good person. Can't go off on personal attacks either, but he needs to make that point clear by pointing at Obama's actions and associations. If he can do that, it'll re-energize his base, and put doubt in the minds of the middle.
