National Novel Writing Month

Nexa and I, along with a couple of others, attempted this a few times. Anyone trying to do it this year? Now that my house is organized (finally!!!), I'm not taking classes and my family's routines are no longer chaotic, I think I'm going to take a crack at this.

Anyone else in?

I lack the creativity to write anything besides a short story. Even that is pushing it. Good luck though, make sure to post the end result. Maybe journalize it.

Salt in the wounds.

One written but poor quality and needs a complete rewrite.

One about 30% written but no work on it for a year or so. Has potential, but if I do pick it up again I'll get an editor this time.

I'm not doing it this year. I'm not doing anything that doesn't pay me in money, haha. Next year, new job willing, I'm in. Good luck!

Local writer's guild actually encourage me to try to more then just think about it this year. Normally I am full of ideas, but never written more then a very short story. Poetry is easier for me, as the structure cuts down on grammar mistakes. Spelling and typos are what spell checkers are for.

I may use my blogger's site or create a new blog elsewhere. seems easiest way to keep track of word count.

I picked up a copy of Dragon Naturally speaking 10 speach to text, and it's been working pretty well. Another 10,000 words that I didn't have a week ago, so that's something.

There's no way that I can participate in this, but last year I took part in NaBloPoMo as an alternative, and will probably do so again this year.

I'm in for it, but if this year is anything like the last few, I expect my computer to temporarily die in spectacular fashion.

Apologies for the two-week-and-change necro (who am I kidding, I'm not sorry, but starting a new thread just because this perfectly good one on the same topic was on Page 3 is overkill anyway), but hopefully everyone (by the time they've read this) has had a chance to open the text editor or word processor of their choice and pound out a couple hundred random characters in frustration.

Or, better yet, has a couple hundred words (or more) under their belt.

And is gbaji going to produce some kind of spectacular work of political fiction that keeps him off the forums for the rest of the month?

I knew there was reason I downloaded Open Office.

I am going to have to finish knitting fingerless gloves, if I'm going to e sitting here typing a novel every day. They are going fairly quickly, now that I learn how to knit 2 at a time on 2 circular needles.
