Such a misnomer.

Game two, TB vs Red Sox was a killer.

Who's gonna take the title this year?

Well, let's see...

Tampa Bay has no fans, so even if they win nobody will really notice.

The Red Sox only claim to fame was their extensive drought, which has ended, so nobody will really care if they win either.

Nobody in LA really cares about baseball. I think they only go to the ballpark to work on their tans.

Which leaves Philly. Even if the Phillies win, their fans will still hate them. Philly fans hate everyone that plays on their teams until long after they've retired and (if worthy) go to the hall of fame. Then they'll grudgingly acknowledge that okay, that guy might have been not entirely godawful. But deep down inside they'll still hate him.

So what it comes down to, is that I don't really care.

I want to see Manny go buck wild in a WS against Boston. That'll be fun!

I'm rooting for either the Red Sox or the Rays. I'm from MA and live in Central Florida, so I'm a little divided; but I think I'd rather have the Red Sox win again, as I have more friends up north than down here so far :)

Up yours. Just about everyone I know is a Dodgers fan to some degree.

Managed to make 7 home games this year.

We even won a few of them.

My tan is looking pretty good too.

Of course they are. The Dodgers have made the post season, I'm sure that the "Dodger fans" are coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches do when the lights go out.

Yeah, nobody's gonna notice if a baseball team wins 3 out of the past 5 Championships

Not really. It's L.A. (or near enough), we don't get worked up like that*. Either you like the sport or you don't, either you like the the team or you don't. Incidently, that is where you get the idea we don't care about the game. Your typical Dodgers fan goes to the games and watches them on T.V., but doesn't get all rabid about it.

* Raiders fans are an exception. They are some bitter assholes.

I have World Series Tickets for games 2 & 7.

But the Sox have to make it there first...

Hmm, so people still bother watching baseball? Couldn't they find something more interesting to do like, well, just about anything else.

Good move. I glanced at the game in disappointment from time to time, but mostly it was on at a dumb time, so I couldn't really watch it anyways.

And you chose to post in this thread purely for kicks?

Oddly enough "someonewithalongname" is longer than my actual name. And yes, I posted in here for the kicks. That and I can't fathom how anyone could possibly find any joy in watching baseball. About the only sport more boring is soccer (football for all you people not from the states).

And some would wonder how this forum is somehow more 'exciting'.

Baseball, like most professional/entertainment type sports, is about the intricacies, the players and the possibilities. If you don't follow it, yeah, it's dull. Any sport is, but, baseball no more so than any other. I'm still really cloudy on why you though posting here necessary.

Some people find MMORPGs/Forum posting/Discussing politics extremely boring and inane as well.

Omen of impending doom for the Red Sox, or is this the proverbial fire under their asses that pulls them out of their slump? Or just a completely unrelated electrical malfunction?

It's about time we had another superstition to blame the Sox' misfortunes on.
