So, the season officially started - well, it starts for me on Sunday when the Oil take on the Avs in the start of their run to the cup.

Man, that's gonna be sweet. Smiley: grin

Anyone else excited? No real off-season moves to write home about here; Ijust hope that the kids line produces again this year and that we don't suffer the crazy amount of injuries we did last year.

Btw, Philly you blow even harder since I heard that Palin is dropping the puck on Saturday. Who'd have thought it was possible?

Didn't hockey just get over?

Not terribly excited, the Avs haven't been that good since before the strike, and I doubt things will change this season. I did watch a bit of them playing Boston last night, then said hell with it and played some AoC since I just picked that up last week.

I also caught a bit of the party or whatever that Detroit had, Def Leppard was playing a show and they brought out the cup. It was interesting seeing that band after so many years.

I'll be at that game.

I've been to every opening day since the lockout, and I'm keeping the tradition alive. Our seats are the very last ones in the upper upper upper deck (300s), just like last year!

And hurray for $10 beers!

Have fun! We sure miss my dad-in-law's seats, 3 rows up from the Oiler bench. Smiley: frown

Wowzers, what's the face value on those? $250 each?

I really don't know. He's had them for 20+ years. I know people have offered him thousands upon thousands for them though.

He sells the use of them every season since he doesn't use them anymore and we aren't around to use them. Makes a good few bucks. It's nice because we get all the tix to special events, like the Heritage Classic a few years back.

If you ever need someone to 'buy the use of them', send me a PM. My father has been on the waiting list for years and would kill for those ticket.

Or be nice, whatever works best.

They even beat the hated Wings last night. I just about shed a tear at the circumstances of the night and their win.

October hockey normally means quiet crowds and dull games, but I was sure tempted to go to tomorrow's Flyer's game. I am guessing Sarah Palin has never been raucously booed by tens of thousands of people before. I hope she is prepared for it. Nobody knows how to boo a brainless loser more than Philly sports fans.

Very happy Rangers fan here! Suffered through many years of missing the play-offs but I think this might be the year. 3 wins to start the season is an extremely nice change.

I hope you're right, Alla. Philly could redeem themselves in Tare's book!

Yay!

Good name for the thread, Im willing to bet all the hockey fans in America can fit on the first few pages.

But to be fair, ice hockey isn't that fun to watch on TV, but it's a blast live.

I might go see a couple Avs games live, there certainly is more energy.

They might not be so good now, but a true fan sticks with their team through the good times and the bad.

Plus... Sakic still plays. I <3 Sakic.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Blackhawks do this season now that Bill Wertz is no longer running the show. His son has already thrown some money around at some young stars, and they're televising all of the home games this season (previously, none of the home games were shown on TV because it was thought that it would hurt ticket sales).

Patrick Kane for MVP!
