I know you have trouble figuring things out but this isn't rocket science. The debate moderator is a rabid liberal. She's going to do everything in her power to give whatever advantages she can to the liberal party. You know this to be true.

I don't, in fact, know that to be true.

Cheap insults are all very well but you have nothing of substance to say here.

I'm just hoping that McCain doesn't look like he just soiled his trousers every two minutes in the next debate.

Very distracting.

I wouldn't particularly care who moderates. If the moderator is seriously out of line, she'll get called on it.

Even if that were the case, I'd expect a candidate with a reasonable level of competence/skill to skate around any obvious moderator bias. Step up his game, so to speak.

Crumbling under the intense pressure of a debate moderator's body language is a good sign that this is not the candidate for the job.

And, sweet jesus, if Katie Couric can make you look like a boob, you're in trouble.

It just makes me laugh. Katie Couric is about as aggressive as the average marshmallow Peep.

The only person who looked like a boob was Couric. That was one rabid bull ****.
I don't go in for bull dykes, frankly. I would **** Katie Couric back to WTVJ.

What does that tell, you Knox? What does that tell you?

#90gbaji, Posted: Oct 01 2008 at 12:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Isn't Pelosi the Democrat leadership? I'm sorry. Was Boehner running around making speaches for 24 hours before the bill saying what horrible louses the Democrats were for having caused this national disaster? Did I miss that example of "lack of leadership"?

Frankly, I'm surprised Gbaji wanted this passed.

Pelosi caused this bill to fail. She may not have been the primary cause, but she was the final straw. I just don't understand how you can't see this. Again. Do you expect Republicans to work "hand in hand" with Democrats while the Dems are beating them over the head? Are we supposed to just take this crap?

Seriously. Look at your own damn party guys. They're the ones acting like small children. Perhaps if they'd acted like adults maybe that bill would have passed...

Here's a link to Fox being fair and balanced.

When asking a restaurant for a show of hands of who is voting for who, 2 people raise hands for McCain, the rest (10 or so) for Obama.

And the correspondant calls it "split".

Then the old people in the restaurant laugh at him.

I didn't. Which is why it's staggering to me that so many people are "blaming" Republicans for this. Look. It was a bad bill. The Dems attempted to stack too much garbage into it. They clearly assumed it was a bill that must pass, so they figured they'd try to run the table with it and learned the hard way that they have to actually work with the other party if they want to get a bi-partisan bill passed.

You can't claim to be working on a bi-partisan solution, while tossing out partisan language about the problem at the same time. I frankly don't know what Pelosi thought would happen.

I see... So attacking Republicans for two days straight when you're supposedly working on a bi-partisan solution to a major problem isn't childish, but the other side pointing to what you did is? How does that work in your head there Joph? Your guys get to do or say anything and if someone holds them to account, they're being "childish"?

Again. The Dems wanted this particular version of the bill far far more than Republicans did. Bashing the guys you're going to, hat in hand for votes, and then complaining when they don't go along with your plan is kinda silly, isn't it?

Scuttling a bill because your precious and fragile feelings were hurt by a speech is childish. Rising above would have been the right thing to do.

Repeatedly attempting to say "Nuh-UH!! You were CHILDISH TIMES A MILLION INFINITY BECAUSE YOU WERE MEAN!!!! and so it's ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!" only serves to prove the point.

Keep at it though!

Here... give this to the members of the GOP for me so they can dry their tears Smiley: flowers

By the way, it's been a lot of fun watching the GOP backpedal furiously from this after realizing how fucking retarded it made them look. After much mockery of Cantor's tantrum, waving around Pelosi's speech and Boehner explictly saying that it was the cause, we suddenly have GOP people "No! No! That was never it!"

Quick, tell them that it's REALLY Pelsoi who looks stupid and childish in this! They should embrace their temper tantrums because it was mean ole Grandma Pelosi who REALLY did it! Smiley: laughSmiley: laughSmiley: laugh

This bailout Bill has been plagued by bad leadership on both sides. President Bush kicked things off with his handling of the situation by backing a Bill that is very ominous to almost all republicans. He put both parties in Congress in uncomfortable positions by proposing a bill that his party doesn't even like, and then asking Democrats to pass the bill for him.

He put too much confidence in the worst Congress in history, asking both sides of the aisle to back a Bill they both had hesitations about. Democrats could not possibly take ownership of this bill, being that it was proposed by Bush and as I said before, it does not sit well with Republicans.

Instead of rushing into things, he should have bought some time for a more suitable bill to be drafted,(namely one that could pass) by doing things he himself had more control over, like getting the SEC to suspend Mark to market and raising the 100k FDIC coverage etc.

Bush essentially put pressure on Congress leadership by failing to lead himself, he put pressure on Pelosi and Boehner which they could not handle.

Both McCain and Obama sucked big ones as well but im not gettin into that.

On the bright side, things have not totally sunk yet and washington still has a chance to do their job.
