#6REDACTED, Posted: Sep 13 2008 at 9:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Agreed. And kudos on the Calvin and Hobbes avatar, this is one great trend that seems to never die, Watterson was a great writer and thinker. His speculations through Calvin and his strip were largely insightful, intellectual, philosophical, thought-provoking and eye-opening.

I would say you were, but that would be stooping waaaay low.

Watterson was indeed a great mind and I find it hard to believe you wouldn't recognize that.

Claiming I got dropped on the head would be stooping too low? What are you, some sort of hall monitor or something?

I don't give two sh;ts how great a mind a comic author had. It doesn't remotely factor in to my snap judgment of, and subsequent reactions to, you.

Respectfully....how do you have Sage man? I hope today is just a bad day and your posts are not always in such an aggressive manner.

In the OOT and Asylum forums members rate other members up based on how humourously they can insult people who they don't like, rather than on the basis of any useful input.

Which makes sense because...man, out of topic forum. What'd you expect? This is where all the people who weren't cut out for the actual forums end up posting.

..and I was just gonna comment on the softer, gentler Moe.

But still durable. Like Charmin.

Let's be clear for the newbie (That's you, Cestin).

Moebius' behaviour in this thread is explicitly allowed in The Asylum forum, which this is. It is not only allowed, but is rather par for the course for half of the Asylumnites. The Asylum: "No holds barred forum for deep OOT discourse. Not for the faint of heart."

The Out Of Topic forum (OOT) is the place where you go to discuss any old thing and if some-one is nasty in return, the admins will frown on it and do something about it, if it's brought to their attention. Trolling and Flaming (being nasty) is supposed to be much more likely to be rated down in the Out Of Topic forum, whereas it's much more likely to garner rate-UPS in the Asylum if it's done well, impressively, or amusingly.

An Asylum Sage is a very different creature than an OOT sage, or a game forum Sage.

The OOT has been in dire need of a forum Furry for the last two years, and will enthusiastically embrace one if offered.

I rated Moe up because he probably thinks I'm a ****. Also, he is as reliable as ever. Finally, I can be assured that Moe thinks I'm an even bigger **** for thinking that Moe cares about karma--even though I know he doesn't. Cheers, and I'll kindly go fuck myself now.

I hope Moe refers to himself in the third person because that would be awesome.

One of the OOT folks, Mindel, did an unscientific yet interesting demographic breakdown of the regulars a while back: http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=28;mid=1190834358112832528
