The View roasts McCainFollow

#1 Sep 12 2008 at 11:27 AM Rating: Excellent
Those nattering nabobs of negativity asked the most hard hitting questions from the sanctuary of womanhood: No one can accuse them of being sexist to John McCain.

See McCain squirm. Squirm, McCain, squirm.

Good link.

The look on McCains face was priceless when he was asked about the 2 attack ads on Obama.

I like the part where he said he hasn't changed his position on any issue due to his candidacy.

Off topic but still in the "Chicks & McCain" milieu, USA Today and the AP are reporting that, during Palin's stint as mayor, Wasilla charged rape victims between $300-$1200 for rape kits to collect evidence. Palin denies knowing anything about it despite the practice sparking a state law banning it.

Yeah, saw that. Nice.

I don't think you understand the demographic Palin was selected to win over.

I hope the going rate for a black-market rape baby in Alaska is at least $1,200. You wouldn't want to add insult to injury.

You got that right, Jo. Been married to the same woman for 25 years and don't understand a thing about her yet. I basically respond in a Pavlovian manner, where I put the toilet seat down after peeing and hope to be rewarded with sex.

Well in all fairness, while she was brought on to help with the women voters, she was really brought on to shore up the evangelicals who were loudly concerned over McCains "faith". I would hope more people who have funbags look past the swept do and glasses and look to her polar opposite stances that Hilary had

I read somewhere yesterday that she tried to fire a librarian after she disagreed with Palins suggestion that some books about gays should be banned.

Cant be bothered to look for a link, but I'm sure its not true anyway.Smiley: sly

She just ASKED about the book banning POLICY in a HYPOTHETICAL sense.

Okay, three times.

And THEN tried to fire the librarian who said books would not be banned.

I read in an e-mail that, according to Snopes, Palin once *********** with a crucifix at an AIP meeting.

They referenced Snopes so I'm assuming it's true.

Doubt they'd bother to downplay it if it never happened.

Quote:
Taylor Griffin, a spokesman for the McCain campaign, said Thursday that Palin asked the head librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, on three occasions how she would react to attempts at banning books. He said the questions, in the fall of 1996, were hypothetical and entirely appropriate. He said a patron had asked the library to remove a title the year before and the mayor wanted to understand how such disputes were handled.

Records on the city's Web site, however, do not show any books were challenged in Wasilla in the 10 years before Palin took office.

Palin notified Emmons she would be fired in January 1997 because the mayor didn't feel she had the librarian's "full support." Emmons was reinstated the next day after public outcry, according to newspaper reports at the time.

"I don't feel I have your full support in my effort to ban books. YOU'RE FIRED.... By the way, who's your stylist?"

I've seen that email. It also said that she gave Reagan the pneumonia that killed him.

I was watching The Today Show one day this week, and they were saying that polls *did* show that more women had been swayed. They didn't break it down into demographics, though. Even so, that made me sad.

Coming from a town where we have several libaries and I wouldn't notice the difference if their staff was fed to the Morlocks every night, I find it amusing to consider that "public outcry" would lead to a librarian getting rehired by the mayor. It's like being in Mayberry!

Guess I can bear watching something other then coverage of Ike's rampage through the Gulf.

As to all the other rumors and stories on Palin, you're all days behind the curve. I got email link to various blog on the Librarian last week. Though I'll admit the rape kit story came out yesterday.

Of course it helps that I'm on several Obama email lists, as well as Multiply, Facebook, Livejournal and more RSS feeds then I can handle at the moment. Since Palin was announced as McShame's VP choice, my Google reader been overflowing at 1000+ items a day.

Sarah Palin is golden, have you seen the interview with her yet? I would love to play a poker game with her, look at those tells!

Charlie Gibson: When John McCain asked you to be VP, what did you think?
Sarah Palin: I thought, is he crazy!?

Charlie Gibson: Do you have the foreign policy credentials to be President?
Sarah Palin: Ya know, I think we can just drill some more oil.
Charlie Gibson: What?
Sarah Palin: Yep.

Charlie Gibson: Are you an uninformed redneck?
Sarah Palin: Yes, but so is everyone else.

Charlie Gibson: Ok, do you know anything about Russia?
Sarah Palin: Did ya know, you can actually see Russia from an island in Alaska. Lets go to war with Russia!

Charlie Gibson: What about Iran?
Sarah Palin: Lets get Israel to attack Iran!

Charlie Gibson: So you agree with the Bush doctrine?
Sarah Palin: I think Bush would be a very good doctor!

Charlie Gibson: Thats not the Bush doctrine.
Sarah Palin: Ya know, I'm a little confused.

Charlie Gibson: Hmmm, what about God?
Sarah Palin: I know God! He talks to me!

Charlie Gibson: What does he tell you?
Sarah Palin: That we should drill for more oil.
