If Andy Murray beats Federer in the Tennis US Open, he'll be the first British player to win a Grand Slam Final since 1936.

Right now, he's 2 sets down, and in the increasingly likely event that he loses, the English media will describe him as 'Scottish'.

If he wins, he will of course be "British Tennis Star Andy Murray".

On the plus side, win or lose, Federer is still a dirty Swiss.

If Murray was English, the media wouldn't stop talking about him. He'd be bigger than Hamilton, or Rooney, or Khan before last night.

I quite enjoy the fact that, for once, they're not building up their new sporting hopeful with hyperbolic praise in order to knock him down with unwarranted scorn the day he screws something up. It's kinda refreshing.

Terribly sorry, old chap. What I mean to say, not one moment ago, was that were Master Murray to be English rather than *spit* Scottish, then surely Fleet Street would not be faffing around, but would rather make a right fuss of this splendid young lad, rather, isn't it?

Un peu, quand meme.

By the way, have you seen "Bienvenue chez les ch'tis?" It pretty funny, for a French film. So not super funny, but it's kinda amusing and cute. Though slightly obvious, sometimes. Often. Most of the time.

But still, decent enough to d/l.

Not yet, but on the list.

Still fapping to Kristin Scott-Thomas in "Ne le dis a personne" Smiley: inlove

I also watched "Rivieres Peurpes" [sp?] with Jean Reno. As ever, his performance was amazing, and I found the plot/gruesome fx more disturbing than any Hannibal Lecter movie.

Meh, all you need to do to be Canadian is have citizenship. We don't care where else you're from or who you even declare you're playing "for", you live here, you're one of us.

Yes, we're that desperate.
