21 Day Countdown, Russia/US WarFollow

#1 Sep 08 2008 at 2:25 PM Rating: Default
It appears that we've been given a warning, one that doesn't seem to be televised on the American media. The reason this concerns me is because this is exactly how the last two world wars began**: A line is drawn in the sand. The US ignores it. War ensues. US claims the line never existed.
**WW1 - American Cruise ship sent into war zone, warned it would be attacked ahead of time by Germany but went anyways. Shortly afterwards it was 'an unprovoked attack' that led us to war.
**WW2 - After the US froze JP assets on American soil; ignored warnings that aiding the Soviet Union, an enemy of Japan at the time, is an act of war against Japan; and ignored all warnings, from Japan and other country leaders, the month prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor; the US continues to this day to act as if the attack on Pearl Harbor was 'an unprovoked attack on the US' which led us into war.

It appears 'we' are at it again:

WSG week-end is definitely my least favourite of the BG week-ends.

As for your post, well, it's pretty silly, isn't it?

How will the US manage to war with Russia when the world is ending on wednesday? Besides which, I'm sure the aliens stealing our thoughts will intervene if it gets intense.

And at 11, an account of all the times the US has challenged similar lines in the sand and it didn't lead to war...

These first two responses are expected, and I'm sure there will be more similar to them. The reason they're expect is because this type of event has already happened before (WW1, WW2, Vietnam) and it takes millions of 'hog-washers' such as yourselves to allow something like this to take place.
By simply calling it 'silly' or attaching ridiculous claims, that have absolutely no relevance to what I've brought up, you are only making your position obvious. You don't care to deal with it because it's too complicated for you handle, so you brush it off as if it weren't true.
Please, by all means show me how/why this is untrue. I would love to not believe that our country is a war monger ... but with so many 'young minds' (RedPheonix and Kavek being examples) in America that are so easily coaxed into following mainstream, it is extremely difficult not to.

PS - If you're going to rebuttal, don't insult yourself: Provide evidence.

More importantly (and in the fashion of how such things actually go), you tell us why it is true. Is burden of proof truly such a difficult concept to grasp?

You really aren't very bright, are you? Please note that I didn't even read most of your post and wasn't responding to the content. I'm simply pointing out that you don't belong here and are probably posting in the wrong area. This is probably where you meant to post this: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=28

And I think that Kavekk is English, but other than that, yeah, spot on.

Just like the rest of your post, really.

Neither of us live in your country, you drooling imbecile. Nice attempt at an insult, pity you're a ******** Might have worked otherwise, eh?

I'm not sure where you got the idea that anyone was seriously addressing your post.

Counter-question: Is it so difficult to read?

Both of your causes for WW 1 and 2 are subject to conjecture, if not entirely falsified. We had nothing to do with starting either war and most of what you think you know about it is just the liberal media spreading lies.

Right, except for the hidden rules that you didn't read. Article six(6), Section three(3), paragraph fourteen(14) CLEARLY startes:

'. . . where all douchebags that think they should post in the Asylum shall instead post message in either a) the Out of Topic forum, henceforth the OOT b) forum=10; dependent upon said douchebag's hobby of choice'
#19REDACTED, Posted: Sep 08 2008 at 3:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ... as well, if i were trying to insult you I'd call you a ******** ****, threaten to beat you with a 2x4, rape you with it, film the event, sell the video on an underground German pornsite and use the profit to surgically turn your mother into a man. But there's no need for insults, now is there?

If you really did that and you're not just furiously backpedalling then you're more of a moron than I first assumed.

First off, I wouldn't use the words young, mind, *or* America to describe Red. ;)

Secondly, the bit you're missing is that the US regularly "interferes" in the exact sort of manner you are talking about. We cross lines of death, we impose sanctions, we provide relief to citizens of countries against their own leaders wishes, and we even sometimes impose embargoes and blockades which bring us right to the brink of nuclear war.

And almost all of the time, the other side realizes that we're just standing up to whatever they wanted to do, they come to the table, and an agreement is worked out. Occasionally, it does lead to war. But you can't assume that, and you absolutely can't argue that we shouldn't try.

I think a strong argument can be made that this sort of diplomacy tends to prevent wars far more often than it causes them. It forces the other side to think through how much that thing is really worth to them *before* things get out of hand. If you don't do this sort of challenge early enough, it's possible for a situation to gradually escalate to the point where the same action will be met with war, but if it had been done a few years earlier, it would have caused the other side to back down. It's really all about timing.

Not "exactly". Not even "remotely similar to". Not even "not completely different in some alternate dimension and if you look at it through a distorting glass". The Georgia/Russia thing has absolutely, nothing, whatsoever, to do with the situation in 1914 or in 1939.

The chances of Russia declaring war on the US are zero. The only way this could ever happen is if someone, somewhere, some scientist maybe, or some super spy, could find a creature as retarded and gullible as you, and somehow managed to put him in charge of Russia.

If you really want to know why this is the case, then read. I can't say more, we're not gonna sit here and explain the blindingly freaking obvious to a 19 year old.

Well on my battleground group, Alliance pugs never win a WSG. Ever. We lose against premades, and we lose against pugs. So evebthough you still get 42h when you lose, its just not worth it. Cos we don't just lose, we lose slow. Half an hour, easy. So when WSG week-end, well, I just try to do the daily and then log off really.
