Bush to speak at RNC TodayFollow

So, how do you think this is going to go over? I'm surprised he's speaking in a way. Well obviously, it'd be strange for the incumbent Republican President not to speak at the RNC, but since McCain wants to distance himself from the President, and since Bush is a very unpopular President, is he really doing him any favors?

It's been amusing how open Republicans have been about the "Bush sucks and he's not going to help so thanks Heavens for Gustav cancelling his live appearance" admission. At the same time, it'd look really weird to shut him out entirely.

My guess is a token speech no longer than five minutes.

Well, I think if he uses that five minuetes to talk about conservatism wisely he'll be ok.

It'll be good if he comes up with more Bushisms

I think McCain would be much better off if Frank Caliendo spoke as Bush instead of Bush.
