Not trolling, or trying to rile up a debate, but it's kind of like the fact that even as people watch their party line make crappy choices for their country, people don't change their vote.
My sister hates it, and you can bet your *** that some day, it will be changed, but I don't know if there's any time frame or pressure to do so atm; she's only 14.
This is largely guesswork on your personal history, but:
Assuming you're her custodial guardian, you can likely have it changed without much difficulty. It doesn't require representation, it might require serving her parents.

I don't feel the need for a 'deed pole' or legal process. I just conceal my real name, and anyone that asks is told the name I prefer.
