Good evening, I am INSERT NAME HERE, and I am proud to be called by John McCain to serve as his Vice President. I'm sure you've heard a lot about me in the past few days, and I'd like to take a moment to tell you about my time as INSERT OFFICE HERE or the great state of INSERT HOME STATE HERE. I have worked to end corruption, lower taxes, drill for oil, keep America strong, etc. INSERT PHRASES THAT POLL WELL HERE.

In closing, I would like to reiterate just how honored I, INSERT NAME HERE, am. God bless us every one! Even Tiny Tim.

You nailed it!

One thing I'm curious about is how the "The Republicans can never do any wrong" camp (i.e. Hannity, Limbaugh, etc) are spinning this VP choice.

Anyone know? I haven't been watching Fox News or anything like that this week.

Um... If you'd watched Fox News, you'd have known that many of that crowd have been talking positively about her as a possible VP pick for months.

You're acting like they're all thinking "Who is this person and why did he pick her?", followed by "OMG! Guess we all have to get in line just to show unity...".

That's simply not the case. Billy Crystal (not that one) has been actively promoting her as his favorite choice to anyone who'd listen for at least 3 months that I know of. Just because most of you don't bother to listen or pay attention to what Conservatives actually think shouldn't be an excuse for making your own assumptions about their probable reactions to the Palin choice.

She's an unknown "out of the blue" choice to most people because most people get their news from Liberal biased sources which haven't exactly been doing any real and honest analysis of Conservative viewpoints. It's actually really interesting if you contrast say MSNBC and Fox. On Fox, you'll see Conservatives and Liberals duking it out on a panel. On MSNBC, you'll see Liberals arguing against other Liberals arguing what they think Conservatives believe. If you watch a panel on that station, you'll get a *very* skewed opinion of what Conservatives actually think and what arguments they actually use.

And, as you're probably figuring out, you'll get a very skewed opinion of how conservatives actually view Palin as a VP pick.

That's simply not the case. Billy Crystal

Gabji, I've met Bill Kristol. I've argued with him on more than one occasion. We disagree on most things. One thing we would agree on is that if you called him Billy, or spelled his last name with a C, he'd have you killed.

#205REDACTED, Posted: Sep 03 2008 at 12:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I noted at the top that the opening information was from wiki. I did this to show that she is a strong bi-partisan leader and a no BS woman for those who still want a woman in the white house and to show that depsite democrats complaining about her lack of experience, she still has more than Obama. Instead of complaining about where I gathered my information and how I chose to share it, perhaps you could focus on the point of the matter. Sure I was being a bit silly about it, but the point was made. Of course the pointis not usually what democrats like to argue. They tend to prefer to nitpick at how it was made in hopes of it being lost to the masses. Don't believe me? Watch CNN and Fox News, flip back and forth and notice the difference in commentary and coverage. Lberal Media FTL!

There's a disconnect here. Billy Crystal = ardent liberal. Bill Kristol = ardent conservative. If Billy Crystal, the actor/comedian of Sleepless in Seattle and host to the Oscars fame was actively pushing for Palin months ago I'd be amazed. Not that it couldn't happen, but...

However, Bill Kristol would have a demonstrably viable reason to discuss Sarah Palin as he is a political commentator.

Clarification please.

So much so that their political affiliations, views, goals and records are irrelevant? "Hmm, Hillary got beat on the Dem ticket, but now there's a broad running for VP on the Repubs!"

Once again, you've proven that you are incapable of agruing the point. When you're wrong...just take stabs at the guy who is right. That'll prove your worth to the left wing party. I'm sure Micheal Moore would be proud.

Yup, you win. You've scarred us all with your rapier like wit. Deeply. Inside, where it hurts. I mean no one will be able to tell, but we'll both know the truth, won't we Jimmy?

Noonan? Are you serious?

OMG! Someone who used to really Like Reagan and the Republicans, but who's become increasingly critical of them in recent years said something negative about a McCain pick? Shocker!

She's exactly one of the conservatives you choose as a Liberal host of a show to present the most negative spin of any Republican decision you can find while making it appear that you're "unbiased". Hence, why I repeatedly say that if you only watch the mainstream media, you're likely getting a very skewed view of what Conservatives really think.

That's funny. Really is. Beautiful timing too. Did you choose to give an example of what I was talking about, or was it accidental? Amazing!

You don't think someone who worked side by side with Reagan and Bush Sr. would be considered conservative? Coiner of the phrase "thousand points of light", etc. etc.?

She's a speechwriter. Do you know who she is? You clearly seem to think she represents conservatives as a whole. I suspect that's your own lack of understanding of conservatives at work...

She's a speechwriter. Seriously. Do you actually think most speechwriters are that strong in terms of policy? They aren't. They just know how to put things down on paper in a way that makes the statements effective. DC is packed full of people who do PR work for one candidate or another, but don't have a clue or care about the actual positions involved.

Speaking of Palin:

Quote:
"The public reaction is different to women in executive positions. There's a real gender difference," said Swift.

Swift is right, said Barbara Lee, who runs a Massachusetts-based foundation that promotes women for political office and conducts research on women seeking executive office. "Women are scrutinized to a different degree than men. People are always worried about whether a woman is up to the job."

link

While she has a good point, anyone from Massachusetts knows one thing:

lolJane Swift. She was a clusterf*ck of a governor. Jesus, there might be another appropriate comparison--the inability to lead.
