Shadow, based on your previous postings, you know absolutely nothing when it comes to MMOs. You are right about the learning curve, everything else you're wrong about. But hell, it doesn't have dwarves so what would you care?

its true. just started. just got passed the turtorial, been ganked exploring 3 times in an hour.gona try minning in safe areas instead. seems you need a fast ship for exploring. or an invisible one. or a really really big one with tons of armor. gone try some of the other pve quests too. mabe the bounty hunter line. minning is boaring me just thinking about it.
im sure there is some stratagy for combat in here somewhere. right now, just set the orbit to max range of what ever weapon you use, hit fire, and hope he runs out of red stuff before you do. dont have any missles yet, so not sure how they might change the stratagy any. not real sure i plan on buying a ship other than the newby one you get for free any time soon. the fighting is very uninteresting. toss in all you see is a red dot with your target symbol over it. just doesnt have the same effect as seeing an orc in your face swinging and axe and grunting. just a little dot, some weapon sound effects, and an explosion.
the market is, well, basically the core of the game. there are many many ways to sell and buy. its huge. its mind boggeling. i spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out how to sell some minerals. tried selling ore before figuring out through some not so friendly chat that you need to refine it first to a mineral.
the new player channel is full of people asking questions.....that mostly dont get answered. and the official forum is soo chopped up it is really hard to find info on. the people really cant be bothered to answer questions in chat. i understand they probebly get sick of answering the same things over and over, its like that in many games with a learning curve. EQ1 was like that.
going through the tutorial is like spending a couple hours getting bombarded with information on hundreds of differant subjects that when you get past it, you MAY remember how to dock and undock your ship. then there is the little things like insurance for your ship incase, correction, for when you get ganked. and buying clones, like in start wars, with enough skill point capacity so you dont loose skills when you get ganked. over and over. pretty much just money sinks to take coin out of the game.
good graphics. very thought provoking. so far, extremly boaring. trying to figure out what to do and where to go is more like doing a term paper than playing.
its the perfect game for someone really into trade skills. mabe stats too, there are alot of ways to upgrade ships. or someone into figuring out complex puzzles as opposed to fighting.
