Why so seriously?

Because this is a very serious thread with a very serious question.

Why do we question this? It happens 2 or 3 times a year and the result is always the same. There's a big futile karma war full of bashing, admin nukes, and bans. As many as 3 trolls will try to return out of spite and be quickly crushed every time. However, as usual, there will be the occasional stubborn weed that will take root and join us. It's like OOT boot camp or something.

Kind of pointless when you already know the answer. No matter how aggravating it is.

I don't know the answer, Doug.

It seems that these two might be socks. At least one of them.

I'm sorry that my thread isn't about an injury that I have suffered or a pet I have or had.

No, you didn't sound condescending at all in this thread, Doug.

I someday hope to reach your level. I just don't know how you manage to do it all the time. I mean, I'd run out of fuel after awhile. Oh well. I guess for someone who ******* about stupid threads as much as you do it must bother you to have it so much as whispered in one of yours. Even though my initial comment wasn't meant as an attack you went all defensive. No wonder you all used to have so much fun at my expense. Whatever, I'm not interested in flame wars any more.

Edit: Dougie beat me to it.

For the record, "It's good to question idiocy" is not particularly defensive.

As for why the influx of new socks / general idiots, hard to say. We used to get this in the Assylum every now and then, though they were generally much more aggressive.

Used to make me think of Gene Wilder as the Waco Kid, talking about how gunslingers always try to prove themselves by beating the baddest.

Waco Kid wrote:
Then one day I hear "Reach for it, mister." I spun around, and there I was, standing face to face with a six-year-old kid. Well, I just laid down my guns and walked away... Little ******* shot me in the ***. So I limped to the nearest saloon, crawled inside a whiskey bottle, and I've been there ever since.

You don't like it when I'm supposedly defenseive, and you don't like it when I'm nice.

I just can't win with you, Doug.

That's defensive? No. Sarcastic, maybe. Defensive? Not so much.

Okay, but Doug's argument was that her first response was defensive.

Lol, first response.

I don't see where he said her first response or even implied it. He simply noted that she got defensive even though his initial comment wasn't intended to be offensive.

Oh well, there I go thinking outside the sandbox again. I must be wrong.
