I'm not a huge fan of Senator Clinton and was less so during her campaign when I thought she showed some real flaws. But I don't doubt for a moment that she has a strong conviction to see Democratic ideals pressed into action and, even more so, to see our nation radically change its direction on health care. This next Congress will be the strongest in history to get these changes enacted and there's no guarantees that it'll be the same stage in 2012. In fact, history would suggest otherwise.

I don't think that Clinton would be intentionally sabotaging the chance for a Democratic president this election. If I had to guess at anything, it'd be that Biden would step down in 2012, citing whatever reasons, and Clinton would take the VP spot on the ticket, grooming her for a walk-on in 2016. I don't get the impression that Biden would still be interested in the presidency eight years from now.

Are you seriously that deluded? First, to think that Obama can't win. Second, to think that hilary is sabotaging him. How exactly is she doing this?
#29REDACTED, Posted: Sep 01 2008 at 7:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Obama can't win without Clinton's support. Some of her delegate are already publically announcing that they are going to vote for McCain. Do you think that is an accident? How many of her supporters need to shift their vote, stay home or write in Hillary on the ballot to give the election to McCain. If you don't think she is megalomaniac enough to undercut Obama then you have forgotten her behavior during the campaign after it was clear she could not win and her performance at the convention was classic Clinton. McCain wins: she runs again in 4 years. Obama wins: she is out of it for 8 years and probably forever. Anyone who doesn't think she will put her intersts in front of the democratic party is deluded. She would do anything to become president. Even 4 years of McCain would be worth it in her mind and in the minds of many of her suporters. She will just look that much better in 4 years.

There's a lot of speculation about Clinton's supporters decamping but very little substance.

In any event, their job at the convention is over, and as private citizens they're welcome to vote for whomever they choose.

I don't see what the problem is.

First of all..the delegates are not going to vote for McCain, are you serious? You honestly think that DEMOCRATIC delegates are gonna care more about "getting back" at Obama than making sure a DEMOCRATIC President is in power for the next four (more than likely 8, as you said yourself) years?

Also, you're so sure that Obama will get eight years if he wins, but that McCain will only get four. Why? You underestimate the power of the incumbency. Even if he dies; his VP (yes even Palin) will have a huge edge over Hilary; especially since she can't use the "well I'm the woman in the election" excuse.

You're just paranoid. See, Hilary Clinton isn't a ****** like you. She realizes that she's much better off with a Democratic candidate in office than a Republican. Think about how easy her plan is to backfire if McCain has an average Presidency, or even worse..a good one. She would have bolstered the power of the Republican Party and helped McCain get re-elected or his VP elected.

Stop posting, you're stupid, seriously.

She is a deceitful megalomaniac who will do anything to become president.

Good news. Even with the Palin announcement blunting the convention bounce, Obama is still polling +6.x (average) over McCain, up five points from a week ago. Even Rasmussen has him up six today, his largest lead in a Rasmussen poll yet.

I bet you even believed Bill Clinton when he waved his finger at you and said: "I did not have sex with that woman." Hillary is not stupid. She is smart and knows that her political clock is ticking. 8 years of Obama and she is finished. 4 years of McCain and she can run again. And yes, she is that cutthroat. Her interests have always come before the democratic party because she believes she is the democratic party and 4 years of McCain is a small sacrifice to make to get her shot again at the office.

Not this again. Now, are you gonna be a good little boy and come back in November if Obama wins, or are you gonna just hide because of how dumb you're gonna look if he does win.

@Patrizia: Again..you're a moron. Read my last post. If McCain wins, that's at least 4 years of Republican power in the White House. She's a Senator; if there's a Republican President, there's a MUCH better chance that the issues/bills she advocates for are gonna get vetoed.

There's a fairly good chance that if McCain wins, there will be a Republican in the White House for 8. and a chance at 12. Again, do you think Clinton wants to take the chance that McCain ends up being a popular President? If that happens, he'll definitely get re-elected, and get his VP elected after that (For some reason I see Palin having "personal family problem" or "health issues" and stepping down from the VP before 4 years is over).

Clinton knows that, yea it sucks for her that Obama won the nomination, but it is @#%^ing retarded to think she would rather have John McCain win in November.

And yea I have 5900 posts over 3.5 years, which comes out to like 5 posts per day or something like that. Now, I know with your little brain that it probably takes you half an hour to come up with your poorly constructed posts, but not me. Also, what a lame attack; how about you try it on Jophiel or Smasharoo who have 4-5 times more posts than me...that'd be fun to watch. I know you're mad because your argument is as thin as paper and resort to post count and "get a life" insults. But that's fine, it just proves to me you know your argument is weak, that's all.

I'd say if it's not Obama 99, McCain 0, Nader 1, McCain can't lose.

Hillary's not getting any younger; and she's on a strict time line for when she can proclaim to be ruler of the world.

So I guess Mitt Romney wants Obama to win? If anyone has as much Presidential ambition as Hilary Clinton, it's Mitt Romney.

Unfortunately for Mitt the GOP's base are going to vote for the nominee regardless of who it is.

Nope, not going to show up. I'm sure it'll be a surprise to you when they don't and Obama wins Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania by large blow out margins, but they're not interested this year. They need to demonstrate they won't except candidates like McCain if they want any hope of maintaining control of the Party.

They're not as stupid as you, you see. I realize that seems impossible given how stupid they are, but it's the case.

That may be. Unfortunately for Mitt the GOP's base are going to vote for the nominee regardless of who it is. Hillary, on the otherhand, has a strong following that feel she was robbed and will take that spite to the voting booth.

Yeah women and the other hilary supporters are so dumb. They don't care about issues. The people who support Hilary only did so cuz she's smoking hot in a tangerine jumpsuit, not because they have liberal politics. They would just love to show Obama who's boss by voting for a pro-life pro-war ticket. I mean who cares what happens in the next 4-8 years? It's much more important to stick it to Obama right now. What logic.

You're right they are dumb. They're also viciously loyal to her.

So I guess they're so viciously loyal to her that they're not gonna vote for the candidate she's saying they should vote for. Unless they're ignoring her public speeches.

I guess Clinton rounds up every single supporter of hers for a closed meeting where she tells them "Ok, I know I keep saying to vote for Obama in public, but in reality, I want to be President in 4 years, and since McCain is DEFINITELY going to die before the 2012 election I have zero chance of worrying about running against an incumbent, so I'll put up with four years of getting every bill I like vetoed."

Your logic is rock solid, I'll give you that.
