Yes, I just chose to run with your example - I don't see what harm it does, apart from the fact that it's not a very good example; MY POINT is this:

It's shortsighted, but it's what normally happens in the media. It's much easier to blame one group or activity while ignoring the consequences of others.

P.S Pretty much every brief article about fertiliser induced growth of algae in rivers/oceans that I have ever read blames farmers alone.
