The pure floor exercise with no props is the best thing since sliced bread.
It's the reason why I started gymnastics (30 kilos ago
), seeing those people run, twist, turn and jump 3 meters into the air, only to land and spring back up in the other direction had me in awe.
And you're absolutely right Red, Gymnastics (floor, beam, bars, etc) have one of the highest rates in crippling injuries and death, especially for girls.
It's one of the few sports where a minor error could cause huge damage, and thus requires you to be at your best 100% of the time (extreme sports excluded, people throwing themselves off a mountain with nothing but a pair of skis on strikes me as madness more than sport, but you gotta let the adrenaline junkies have their fix somehow).
