Is Smash denying historical fact again?
How about you provide some evidence to refute the commonly agreed upon history that says that McCain was given the opportunity for early release but refused to do so unless they released everyone else who'd been captured before him. It's not about Wiki Smash. Every single source I've ever run across has confirmed that story. If you want to refute it, you need to say more than "False".

Serious about what? That it's common knowledge. I'm not even clear on what it is you're arguing with me about particularly? Why would the fact that it's common knowledge have anything to do with me liking John McCain?
I don't take anything a politician says at face value, whether or not I like them. I also enjoy the salesmanship at a decent car dealership, the flattery of jewelry clerks, the expertise of makeup artists, and the attention to detail of a decent sommelier...but I never forget that they're all trying to sell me something. If you want it to be sold to you, if you enjoy the experience, if you want to believe in the product because it lets you sleep better at night, then by all means stay enchanted. I envy that personality type most of the time, believe it or not. It's just not me.
