Have you looked at the divorce statistics for veterans? I know that there's this political expediency to making a huge huge issue out of this, but it's not like what happened in this case was particularly rare or unusual.

I also love how everyone talks about his first wife and uses the word "crippled". Um... He was just as crippled as she was when they were reunited. We can speculate as to what degree which specific thing contributed to their divorce, but automatically assuming it was because she didn't look like she did before he was shot down and spent 5 and a half years being tortured seems a bit unfair.

Cheating on your wife is wrong, period. There's no real justification for it. If he was so upset with her appearance, or cooking, or whatever reason he would have for falling out of love with her, he should have divorced her..period.
This goes for anyone..Bill Clinton, John Edwards, etc. You can't make any justification for this, but it's fun to watch you do it. Why can't you just say "Hey, yea he was an *** and cheated on his wife, but lots of guys do" instead of making up ridiculous justifications for him.
