I guess swimming is just one more thing that we're better at than you. The trash talk before the event and the absolute crushing of the world record made the victory even better.

What say you, Red?

Oh, ***** you guys.

No, seriously, it was an awesome race. Though I can't help being slightly suspicious at the fact the WR was broken 3 times in the heat, by the relay B Teams no less, it was quite enthralling. I didn't expect France to do half as well as they did, and how could I when the US team had Phelps. The man's a monster. But when it came to the finish, I really thought we had it. It was as tight as a duck's *****

I also loved watching the Basketball. China did ok for the first half, some pretty moves and some quick play, but the US was just too strong. Even crazier, they actually played as a team. Shocking. If they continue, they might actually win it this year.

The first five finishers in the final all broke the old world record. Which just goes to show you, you can't stop the march of humanity's chemically induced progress.

Either that, or they've all simultaneously discovered some new way of swimming.

So yeah, drugs.

Fantastic race, the swimming has been very intense and even the gymnastics last night were pretty fun to watch. The Olympics in general have been pretty exciting so far. NBC has a nice plug in for Windows Media Center (And I'm sure a stand alone program) that allows you to pick the events you're interested in and will download them automatically as they become available. Pretty handy to have actually.

What I want to know is where I can see the opening ceremonies? I missed them when they came on, and a brief internet search didn't turn them up. Are videos of them "illegal" now? If so, that sucks, since it's pretty much the only thing I want to see.

I hate opening and closing ceremonies, and I must admit that these were pretty spectacular. I'd never really seen anything quite like it, at the Olympics or at the World Cup.

Having said that, I only watched 12 minutes of highlights on the BBC website, so I probably missed all the boring bits. Maybe you could try it.

That program I was talking about had it Nads, you might try NBC's website to see. You'll probably have to install something for it though Smiley: frown

I saw that on NBC's site, but didn't pay much attention to it. I'll check it out again, Wint.

From an online blurb about the women's swim team:
