Obama's team whines too muchFollow

#1 Aug 09 2008 at 5:38 PM Rating: Decent
I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's signed up for Obama's newsletter, but I haven't seen the contents of it discussed at length. I'm about ready to unsubscribe from it, however, as I feel his team does nothing more than whine and beg. I've seen MAYBE 1 paragraph devoted to actual issues during the 2 month period I've been receiving his updates, and the issues were what I was interested in when I signed up. Do you guys receive his newsletter, and if so, what's your opinion?

For reference, the most recent one I received goes:

Quote:
Friend --

This week John McCain's campaign hit new lows with their attacks and distortions.

And all too often, the so-called "referees" in the news media are spending a lot of time repeating his false attacks and very little time holding him accountable.

Watch the video of Barack taking these attacks head on at an event in Indiana and help spread the truth about John McCain.

Take Action

Here's the latest from McCain and the media:

*

Just last week, McCain and his party attacked Barack Obama and ridiculed the idea that keeping your car tires inflated is an effective way to improve fuel efficiency and keep down the cost of gasoline. The thing is, everyone from AAA to NASCAR agreed with Barack. McCain finally had to face reality this week and reverse his position. But the media had a good laugh about McCain's petty, misguided stunt and ignored his effort to distort the truth to win a few cheap political points.
*

Earlier this week, the McCain campaign put out an ad saying that Washington is broken. It's gotten a lot of press so far, but it didn't mention that John McCain spent the last 26 years in Washington -- failing to fix this broken system. He portrays himself as a so-called "maverick" but doesn't want people to know that he has voted 95% of the time in support of George Bush's policies.
*

Another ad uses scare tactics to claim Barack's tax policy will hurt middle class Americans. Press coverage of the ad repeated McCain's smears, but omitted the fact that Barack's economic plan will cut taxes for 95% of American families. Not to mention that McCain's upper class tax cut plan leaves out more than 100 million middle class families.

The media may not be informing the public very well, but you don't have to sit back and wait for them to start telling the truth about John McCain.

Watch the video of Barack responding and join thousands of fellow supporters on the Obama Action Wire to spread the word about John McCain's deceptive politics.

Please forward this email to everyone you know.

Thanks for your help,

Obama Action Wire

I dare say that I'd rather see him flinging poo than defending himself this way. At least then nobody could accuse him of having no balls.

Eh, the newsletter is silly, inconsequential, and almost certainly unseen by Obama himself.

It's a fund raising newsletter. What did you expect? There are 1000 position papers on issues on the website.

What Smash said -- they're fundraising requests, not newsletters. For actual stuff about what the campaign is up to, you visit the website. When they contact you, it's hat in hand. All the campaigns are the same (I'm signed up on all the major websites and get their e-mails).

I do like the videos of Plouffe though.

There is a difference between government policy and a fundraising email.

Here is a news break..."OBAMA IS NOT A GOD". You are going to see something amazing this election. The average american is going to vote for McCain. Not because McCain is so great of a candidate but because Obama and his followers present Obama as a false GOD.

Wait, wut?

That could be a new commercial.

"Democrats: the anti-Christ party. First they make the US into a modern Sodom and Gomorrah. Next, they slaughter the innocent in the abortion holocaust. And now, they violate the first commandment with the elevation of their false Muslim God."

It reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Homer erects the golden idol.

This seems like an excellent reason to vote for McCain.

Maybe we could even work him into this new commercial as McCain and Abel.

Unfortunately, you'd really want McCain to be Abel.

I don't think you want McCain to be the one 'killed' in the polls if you are running a McCain ad.

You would also not want not want your candidate to be considered the progenitor of evil.

After seeing how well Christians have fucked this nation up, I'd be willing to give a Muzzy a go.

Maybe we can get the national motto changed from In God We Trust back to E Pluribus Unum like it should be?

Your national motto is 'In God We Trust'?

There's your problem right there.

No idea.

But I do know I cant transit thru an american port without having a retianl scan, fingerprints taken and an hour of idiotic questions barked at me by a neanderthal with the mirrors on the inside of his sunglasses, before missing my flight.

You can keep that kind of freedom thanx.

Having experience of what Paulsol described, I'd hire security staff who have a modicum of interpersonal skills and an understanding of respectful efficiency.

In all the countries I visit, there's a sense that they appreciate the inconvenience, but hope we'll understand the importance of security. We get it.

US Immigration exude conempt from every pore, and aren't particularly efficient. I always carry a small penknife on my keyfob that I occassionally forget to remove before flying. On 2 occasions in recent years (post 9/11) I've set off the beeper at US airports, apologetically shown my keyfob (with the penknife dangling) and been waved through with a scowl.

We call it arrogance over here. How ironic is that?

It's funny. My grandma lived through the London Blitz. When 9/11 happened and America freaked out, she was all like "Really? You give up your freedoms that easily?" She lived through months of airstrikes. We had one. And really, if you think about much of the world surviving wars on their land, maybe being a bit skeptical that we sign the @#%^ing patriot act and continue to freak out 8 goddamned years later, it kind of makes sense. We kind of suck that way.

Plus Naughtyword is in the military, btw.
