You say that as if it's a bad thing.

Someone please educate my non-American ***, but doesn't any bill the president wants turned into law need to go through congress's approval?

Not that Nobby needs correcting because what he said should be absolutely clear, you're either alive or dead. When you die, you die instantly. You can phrase it as dying if you wish, but you're still alive.

Yes but Virus thinks G.W. Bush is royalty and McCain is a straight descendant from the Pharaoh(probably cause he looks like a mummy). They don't need congress to tell them what to do

But you thought to do so anyways. [:rolleyes:}

Well, let me ask you; When is that insta-moment that death takes us?

Not when the heart stops, as other systems continue on and the heart can be restarted.

Not when we've stopped breathing as obviously you can even still be conscious and not breathing.

Not when consciousness is gone from the spectator's view-field as clearly the body can continue functioning normally.

The moment a life ends is as elusive as the moment a life starts.

"You cannot qualify war in harsher terms than I will. War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it; and those who brought war into our country deserve all the curses and maledictions a people can pour out. I know I had no hand in making this war, and I know I will make more sacrifices to-day than any of you to secure peace." William T. Sherman in a letter to the city of Atlanta.

There are many more Americans, Japanese and others who are alive today because of Aug 6, and 9 1945.
It cant be proven but maybe those first two uses are why they have never been used since.

Not corrected. Elaborated.

When your heart stops.

When your heart stops, you are dead. Yes you can be brought back to life, but you are dead.

See when your heart stops.

See when your heart stops.

Not really.

So anyone who's heart has stopped has died?

Stopped for how long?

Edit:

Btw, curiousity got the best of me.

Quote:
The National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws in 1980 formulated the Uniform Determination of Death Act. It states that: "An individual who has sustained either (1) irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions, or (2) irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem is dead.

Not quite so cut and dry.

You're welcome for the inspiration, but I must warn you. If you're using me as creative inspiration you shouldn't expect much success.

My apologies. Respiration has to stop too apparently. I would go so far as to say that people that are brain dead (most of the people my mom works with at CWC) are nothing more than zombies shambling around the building.

Edit: I still believe that someone that has their heart stop is dead. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try to resuscitate.

Judgment call required though.

My definition of death is complete and irreversible loss of brain activity. If there's even a spark I'm still alive.

What if there's no spark at all and you still manage to live? And farm okra? And sell insurance?

What THEN?

That's one definition.

Another is 'Sex in the City'

We are well and Canaduh is great. I cannot believe how much the cost of living has gone up here. It's like 30 bucks for 24 beer! Ack! We are getting a lot of pressure to come home with the kidlets but it's hard to say no to the cost o' livin' in the ol' US.

Mr. T went back to NC to get back to work and I and the kids are now staying with his parents. I am losing patience daily and cannot wait to be back in my own home. Plus, Mia may have chicken pox. TBD.

How's life there?

Yuck, doesn't sound like such a great vacation now. When do you get to come home?

Things are the same around here. I kinda dropped EQ2 again (I'm so fickle, haha) but I'm sure I'll be back soon. Something about that game just won't let me quit it.

Noah started football this year. I need to post pics, he's too cute in his uniform.

I come back on Aug 19th. We are trying to enjopy the time we have left since we won't be back for two years after this. My in-laws are ok but they are waaay out of touch with little kids and that can cause a lot of tension. Plus, my MIL is a bit of a know-it-all that constantly tries to tell me what to do with my kids. UGH.

Lol on EQ2. The break has been good for me. I have read 2 books in the past 3 weeks and I'm onto another. I'm sure I'll be back but in very short stints - until the next expansion, that is. Haha! Time-suckage...sigh...

Totally post pics! I'll post some kid pics when I get back. We got loads of great ones.
