but, I love RAH's books, and Stranger was my favorite book in my 20s, however you can't base your life on the guy's morals. If you do you will be fucking your mom, having threesomes with your sister, who was once your brother, spewing silly words like 'grok' and 'TANSTAAFL' (I really remembered that, honest!) and talking nonsense about meritocracys, individualism and self-determination.
I love his books too, and I love the TANSTAAFL mentality, which I thought fitted the Lunar colonies perfectly.
Also, I don't think those are RAH's morals at all, I think they are the tool that he tried to use to shake up some of the preconceptions and taboos of his time. The shock value of his writings sold more books than the literary content and yet he's still my favorite author.
But I'm not talking about morals, I said "morals aside" in my first post.

Besides RAH would never advocate running out and wasting some guy just 'cus (even if the 'cus was based on a horrendous crime). He would ask if you thought it was a good idea and force you to consider the why and the all the consequences of the act.
True, but I took Micheal's fatalistic (and innocent, to a point) viewpoint when I mentioned SiaSL here, not Jubal's level-headed one.
The scene I'm talking about is the one when they tried to burn Mike out, and then imprison him, and he escaped taking out of existence most of the city's corrupt individuals.
