Not as tragic to the band as losing the fiddler perhaps, but still Leroy was pretty good - good in the same vein as Clarence Clemmons was good for Bruce Springsteen.

Eh, if it were a spinal injury it's not that strange. Sad, but not all that unexpected. I'm just guessing, though, based on the whole "intense physical rehab" thing.
