WTF is it with the Amy Winehouse haters??

She's a waste of carbon. I personally don't give two ***** what happens to her, I just want her to die so CNN stops wasting bandwidth on her. It's not like the internet is infinite.

Or alternatively give a little cheer the next time you see her staggering down the street with her eyes spinning in her head and be thankful that there are still some 'celebrities' out there who don't pander to the unreal and hypocritical expectations of the press and their sad fucking readership who get apoplectic about people like Winehouse and their party habits while knocking back their tenth beer of the night and smacking their wife in the face.

/rant off for now.

She *IS* pandering to the press and their readers. She's open and willing to slap some ho in the crowd and make another headline.

Put me down for Morgan Freeman as my first choice. Between his divorce and that accident he was just in, his stressors have to sky high. Maybe enough to off the dude even. Go go Grim Reaper!

Jack Nicholson is my second choice, and George Herbert Walker Bush is my third. In between Jack chasing poontang and Georgie jumping out of airplanes, death has to be salivating at the prospects of nabbing these two.

Point of order: Are we allowed to select people others have already chosen? I read through all the posts after I made my first three selections and realized my first two have already been mentioned.

Ok, barring that I mayn't use Freeman and GHWB, I'll put Annette Funacello in as #1 and Liz Taylor at #2. I'm still percolating on numbers 4 & 5 if duplicates are disallowed.

Judges? May I get a ruling on this?

Judging from previous entries, it seems we're allowed.

Obviously there will be overlap. Originally I believe Smash intended the ballots to be somewhat secret, in which case there surely would be, but w/e.

Order is important, as well.

In all fairness, it seems each of us should have an original death-ee, not the me too of Amy Winehouse pile-ons. It also eliminates the chance for ties, especially if you use the calendar date to determine rank. if it was left up to me, I'd say we need to have our own selections and the quicker you pick them, the better your choices.

Personally, I'm going for a Hollywood theme, as they tend to live life without any self control.

Ok, my five (and I haven't read most of the thread, so if I'm messing something up, let me know):

1. Castro
2. Billy Graham
3. Zsa Zsa Gabor
4. Elizabeth Edwards, hahaha
5. Phylis Diller

I didn't accidentally name anyone who's already dead did I?

I dunno, I keep seeing various names and thinking, "is he/she still alive, really?"

Obviously I'm no kinda judge.

Same here. I guess that's why I haven't posted a list. In my mind, everyone who will most likely die soon should have already died.

wow, a lot of people have Castro of Billy Graham it seems...I guess I'm late to the party. I didn't see anyone else with cancer booby though, though I skimmed.

I didn't pick Castro because I figured there would be a good chance his death would be kept secret at least long enough to outlast the year.

Probably foolish, but oh well. It's all a roulette spin anyway.

Nahh. 'Declining comment' is standard m.o.

Yes, I'm aware that I can look people up. I'm referring to the initial reaction of seeing a name and wondering.

So, Smash, do we each need to come up with our own choices, not to be duplicated by following posters? Or can we me-too all our selections? Quick! Morgan Freeman might die any moment and I want to be in on it if I get credit for wishing him dead!

I think the order will be enough to prevent ties. If someone has the identical 5 people in the same order, they can split the gigantic prize of nothing the winner will receive. The good news, though, is that half of nothing...equally valuable.
