We haven't had an update from anyone recently. Let's hear your tales of woe or success, people.

Alot of people PM'ed me for information, but I've yet to see any results or indication that they even read the damn thing. As for myself, I've put on 15lbs since I've posted pics. Most of it good muscle, some extra, but that's the nature of bulking. I'm at a pretty solid 215 now, hoping to begin cutting next week to hit 195 by Nov 12. Which happens to be my 30th birthday. Yikes.

Why, yes, I did lose weight, thankyouverymuch for asking! I didn't think anybody had noticed, tee-hee! 214 as of today, down from a whopping, scale breaking behemoth-sized 240#. For the first time in years I hope to break the 200 pound plane and hit my pre-pregnancy weight-- it was all my wife's fault, I swear! --of 185.

When we put in a pool this past winter I decided it sucked to be a bloated Shamu and subject everyone to so much white skin. I went to the doc, he put me on a program which, happily, actually works.

My poodle is now sexually attracted to me again.

Still lean and sexy. If anything, I should gain weight.

Well, the good news is I weight less than Totem or Neph. The bad news is the weight loss is going slower than I'd hoped. I don't use sugar, I use splenda. If I drink soda I drink the CokeZero kind. MrKatie cleaned up my old bike and got it in good shape so now we are bike riding every day. It's nice.

My son needs to lose weight. He's 19. How can I encourage him, help him out, without being a nag?

If he's self-conscience at all about his weight then it's gonna be kind of hard for him to talk to you about it. I don't know if your son is an exception to being a 19 year old male but when I was that young I thought I knew everything about the world and didn't want advice from anyone.

The best thing you can do is probably to just let him know that you're concerned and are willing to help him if he wants help...the rest is up to him.

OR

You can tell him what I wish someone would have told me when I was younger and say "The fitter you are the more Vag you get to pound in your life, plain and simple".

You may not want to have to think about your son's sex drive but trust me...it's there and it motivates him more than anything.

Lock him up in a cage and only feed him what you see fit?

Or you could just simply say, "BOY! 'DEM GOBLINS IS HUNGRY RIGHT 'BOUT THIS TIME 'A YEAR, AND 'DEY BE LIKIN' THE FAT FOLKS. SO YOU BEST LOSE SOME OF THEM POUNDS!

Does he live at home or on his own?

Yeah, that was almost as lame as your subsequent self-quoting in your signature.

The only thing I'd suggest is to do stuff with him that is healthy. Other than that, he's gonna have to be self-motivated or look for his own support.

He's home right now, but works a noon - 9pm shift. So, he tends to eat fast food for dinner (I suspect).

I know I can't take care of him anymore, but try and have decent food around the house.

Knox, he was never really into team sports much, but was (is still technically) a 2nd degree BB in Shaolin Kenpo karate - that was pretty much his fitness routine as he did practice or attend classes regularly 3-5 times a week. He quit a couple years ago when he went off to college....then he gained weight in college....then he quit college. bleh..he's troublesome.

Elinda,

Sounds like a smart kid. College is one of the biggest scams around. Unless you know specifically what you're goal is then you're just throwing away money.

haha, sorry, funny.

Get him into live steel. IIRC, your family is into the whole ren thing, so that might be an easier route. It's pretty close to what he enjoyed doing before, and nothing burns off the pounds quite like fighting in the summer heat while wearing 50 pounds of metal and leather. Or so I'm told...

I don't actually own a scale, so I have no clue what my current weight is. I don't work out as frequently as I used to (and weighed 185), so I know it's a bit higher. But it's lower then it was about a year ago. I decided to stop eating fast food. Period. Been cooking my own meals, which is much yummier, a lot cheaper, and if you pick the right meals, actually doesn't take much more time than a trip to and through a drive through. Oh. And I can seriously feel the difference, not just in the gut, but in terms of general health. Let's just say that my digestive system is thanking me and leave it at that...

I'll pass along some of my super-secret bachelor "cooking for one" recipies if you want.
