2000 calories really isn't that much food. One banana alone has 100 calories in it.

Well I don't want to eat 20 bananas, no matter what your fantasies are! :D

Fish is amazing for losing fat and building muscle. So healthy and also so lean. If you don't have time to cook it, try getting some cans of tuna. 30 grams of protein, little carbs and only 120 calories.

Rest - People who sleep less are fatter. Even as children. Get your 8 hours and make sure to give your body time to rest and rebuild between workouts. 48 hrs between working out the same bodypart again.

It's true that I don't get enough sleep...usually around 6 hours a night, sometimes less. I shoot for more, but you know how it is with little ones.

I have tuna at least once a week for lunch. Something like a spinach salad with tuna, other veggies, and almonds for a little crunch. I also don't use dressing, I opt for low fat cottage cheese instead if one is required.

Cool, thanks. This says I should be eating around 1408.2 calories a day. Now is that for weight *maintenance* or weight *loss*? I'd like to lose about 10 pounds...so should I plug in my goal weight in the equation and use that as my caloric goal?

That's the average recommended caloric intake for someone your size. Your metabolism plays a big piece as well, so it's just an estimate.

If you can run a caloric deficit while still exercising, you will lose weight. Eating nothing at all will work against you, you need energy to build lean muscle to burn more calories, so be sure not to drop off a ton of calories.

I'm getting old. When women get old, our arms get flabby...even if we lose weight. I have delightful biceps and the outside of my arms are toned (I forget what that muscle is called), but I'm getting the tell-tale old people flabby wing thing going on. How do I make it stop most effectively? I don't have time to go to a gym but I have 5 pound weights at home for arm toning and such...what's the best exercise for that particularly? Neph? Nio?

Dips - do you have a couch or a sturdy chair? Do tricep dips - http://www.betterbodz.com/tricep/tricep_dip.html
** you can have your feet on the floor - high reps

Pushups - This will help your abs, back and arms. high reps

with 5 lbs weights you can do these

You can combine a home tricep set with Abs. I'd suggest 2-3x per week.

Abs - plank (front & each side) try to hold for a minute. Work up your time. You will also feel it in your arms.

I hope this helps hun.

Don't aim for weight loss, just the tiniest bit of sodium in your body can change your weight drastically. Plus a lot of the weight could be muscle. Just use the mirror as your guide to see if you are losing body fat and gaining muscle.
