Sure. If I die and the world hasn't run out yet, I owe ya $50k. If we run out before then, you owe me $50k.

You mean like liberals telling us drilling won't help for 10yrs, all the while watching the cost of fuel increasing rapidly? Yeah we don't need to drill or produce our own oil.
But starting drilling now won't produce oil for 8-10 years. This isn't really a matter of debate. I personally think that OCS drilling is probably a reasonable thing to start now, but it's not like we'll magically see oil flowing the day after the decision to do that or something. Now I know you'll spout some garbage about fuel prices magically going down right away, but see that's you telling yourself lies again, or believing them, whatever. Fair enough, it makes you feel better.

So lets say for arguement's sake that man is creating global warming. What's the big deal? The earth has been warming and cooling for billions of years. It was going to happen whether we helped it along or not.

We know the poles are melting and will probably totaly melt away and raise ocean levels. It's not the end of the world. You just move farther inland away from the coasts. What is the big fear here? Hell,in 200 years we may have another ice age and people will be wishing we had global warming.

The point is usually that man is pushing a natural cycle farther then it would normally go. The farther we push it, the worse it will be. At that point people usually conclude that we shouldn't make it worse then it has to be.

One question. Do you think taxing US based oil companies will increase the cost of fuel or reduce it?
Off Topic much? Is that your tactic? You're obviously wrong so you'll try to change the topic. Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

Huh. I never thought I'd see Varrus agree that homosexuality is completely natural behavior.

Nope. Humans are of nature ergo anything we do is natural. You said so yourself.

#44gbaji, Posted: Jul 21 2008 at 12:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's redundant in that the scientific term for the climate in its natural state is "climate state" (ie: with no human influence). The term "Climate Change" is specific to changes to that climate state caused by humans. To then put the word "Anthropogenic" in front of it is redundant.

No.

It is, shockingly, specefic only to... changes.... in climate.

Which is the exact argument Joph attempted to make the last time I pointed this out. Of course there's no papers on climate change that talk about non-human causes.

There are thousands.

Therefore

Let me emphasize again, this word just engenders waves of laughter in all readers, making it physically impossible to continue reading your posts. I'd recommend "if I'm right..." in the future. Then we could at least get to the ludicrous conclusion without risking passing out from loss of oxygen by laughing too hard.

Gbaji might sound more authorative if he hadn't just piddled himself over an overstated fluff "science" piece written by a British journalist and businessman who thinks you get paid to be peer-reviewed.

As I said, a bizarre mixture of hilarity and despair.

Not that I accept your argument but, even if I did, who the fuck cares?

Christ, you're like some idiot trying to defend his asinine economic theories on the basis of another guy saying "PIN number".

#48REDACTED, Posted: Jul 21 2008 at 12:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The problem is we have nothing to base it off of. For all we know this could be the natural progression of the earths climate changing. The icecaps have melted many many times before and will again in the future. Are we humans so powerful we can control the natural evolution of the planet? I dont think so.

Base it on. I'm not a grammar ****, but it's literally hard to read without picturing a Bronx street urchin.

No, for all YOU know. You're an idiot who can't judge these sorts of things. You're never going to think anything is understandable because you're capable of understanding so little.
