It's supposition, obviously. If it makes you happy to believe that your friend is a magical hero who doesn't do what virtually every other athlete does to compete at a world class level, great. The world needs people like you to sell things to.

I was hoping you had some actual information about the situation. Oh well. The wiki entry on doping(most notably the survey on steroids from '84) point to there being a very high rate of drug use, and I would expect those trends to continue with newer drugs. I'm just having a hard time finding anything useful about the situation today. I did find this quote from 72 in the wiki very amusing.

"A medical research team in the United States attempted to set up extensive research into the effects of steroids on weightlifters and throwers, only to discover that there were so few who weren't taking them that they couldn't establish any worthwhile comparisons."

There are 15 year old kids in the olymipics. Lets pump them up with steriods so they can all compete on an even playing field. Hah. Not in my world.

That's pretty much reserved for gymnastics. I don't seem to recall many 15 year old track and field stars.

There are 13 year old kids in the Olympics. They're also doping. What sort of bizarre Polyanna existence do you live in where age would preclude drug use with worldwide fame at stake?

There are often 15, 16, 17 year old athletes in the Olympics and other international level competitions.

Regardless, many of the young people in the olympics are still developing physically.

Thirteen, fifteen, twenty. I don't think it's right or good for the competition. It's cheating if you will. Apparently the majority agree since it againts the rules of almost every athletic institution in the world. The simple statement that 'everyone' is doing it is irrelevant.

It's not cheating if everyone is allowed to participate in it. Is it cheating to ride carbon fiber bicycles instead of steel ones?

No, it's completely relevant. It's like having a maximum height limit of 5 feet in basketball and letting any athlete that crouches when measured compete and banning those who stand upright.

In the American National Football League, body shape of the big players changed dramatically when they began testing rigorously. Ya they take supplements from an approved list, so I guess someone could argue they are "doping".

It is hard, and some get through, but with rigorous testing, there really shouldn't be much of a problem with doping.

I think that the argument from a cheating point of view is fairly weak. Drugs can often have a meaningful negative impact on health however especially when athletes take more then they should and then push to the edge.

On another note It seems as if the minimum age is currently 16. there was an 11 year figure skater in 1932 though. crazy.

They got bigger. Are you on dope yourself? HGH use is rampant in the NFL, not to mention dozens of other drugs that aren't tested for.

He was full of EPO

Of course he was. The idea that he was clean for seven years beating 30 other guys who blood doped because he's made of fire and magic is painfully ludicrous.

If the rules don't disallow carbon fiber bicycles, then no.

It's cheating if the rules that these athletes agree to say otherwise. Taking steriods is not something that ALL athletes can participate in at the same level. They have different short-term and long-term effects based on an individuals physiology. Both positive and negative effects. Young developing bodies are only the most obvious. Many people are allergic to or hyper-sensitive to various different drugs. Women suffer from different effect than men. This isn't carbon bikes or friction reducing swimsuits...this is fucking with someones physical and chemical make up.

Personally I think banning steriod use is a good rule, and a rule that can be enforced pretty fairly.

One of the solutions would be to create a white list of drugs that are deemed safe. The problem is that athletes will overdo the recommended dose, and you arrive at the same point, people are willing to expose themselves to serious harm in order to win. Should they be allowed? Who knows. It's a far different point to say they shouldn't assuming we can test and find everything(which we can't, but the ideology sort of assumes), to saying we shouldn't when there are lots of ways to use drugs and slip under the radar(which is the case).

They went from pure muscle when they were on steroids to big and fatties. Whatever they are on now isn't as good. If you're looking for zero, that isn't what I said. Testing made a huge difference.

This is absolutely false.

I'm not sure which uncle's cousin's brother's gay lover gave you this impression but it's not true, at all.

I'm talking about the linemen (the big guys from my first post).

By the way, you aren't doing yourself any favors by restating yourself with no added info.

Shut the fuck up. This is your fucking act? Make claims based on absolutely nothing, then when someone points that out make no effort to back them up with anything?

YOU are the one who claimed linemen got smaller after drug testing was implemented. Offering zero evidence of this. When I pointed out, correctly, that it was false you still offer ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but realizing your ******** argument is in peril, change tacks to "well they got less muscular, not smaller".

You're making **** up arbitrarily. You have ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING IDEA what you're talking about.

It is not now, and never will be the job of those who call you on your useless ******** to "prove you wrong". It's your job to demonstrate that your blatant lie was in any way accurate when someone calls you on it.

Which you can't and won't do here, right whiney little *****? You'll just cry about big bad Smash making a fucking fool out of you and go away like the huge quivering pussy you are.

Isn't that right?
