Apparently, the term "Black Hole" is racistFollow

The Article wrote:
A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.

County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.

Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.

Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."

That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.

Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

Other county officials quickly interceded to break it up and get the meeting back on track. TV news cameras were rolling, after all.

Well, now this is interesting. I didn't think that a Judge and a Commissioner could turn a scientific term into something "racist" in front of the live TV news cameras.

I wonder, does the scientific community needs to consider the society's current sensibility towards every single word in their thesaurus and change the current scientific terminology in favor of more PC-friendly words and phrases? Because, from the looks of it, even if it is a scientific term that does not describes any human being, it can "hurt" other people's feelings.

To be fair, with the Texas accent and all it probably sounded like "black ho'".

There are some real idiots in this world. Apparently especially in Dallas.

Well, thanks for letting us know.

I heard "Black Hole Sun" was their theme song until it was rumored that Ted Danson claimed the lyrics were written about Whooopie Goldberg and their illicit male love child.

And now a bunch of scientists are smacking their foreheads at once. It was a nice touch the black guy retorted that the office was like a white hole. Seriously, that is funny shit.

I do believe this article just made my day.

I am declaring "White lie" to be racist. So from now on I will use "Black lie" instead and watch as people wonder what the hell I am talking about.

You two just made my day.

At least we can say that this... issue... wasn't about something so trivial like the terms "black coffee" and "white coffee". Although, that may have been Starbucks' own secret agenda to being with.

Yoss, wouldn't it actually be called a "gravitationally challenged star" then? Just sayin'.

Except that these things certainly aren't deficient when it comes to gravity. I do like the whole "challenged" bit though, so how about "escape velocity challenged"?

Just a thought...

You know, this is just a hint of the insanity we can expect if the PC totalitarians are successful at installing Barack Obama in the White House — which may have to be renamed in the interests of preventing white supremacism.
