Enjoy the beer and food and day off work and here's hoping you don't singe your eyebrows with fireworks.

In other news, it's Friday! So, this weekend Mr. T will be putting together our new computer (a million thanks, Kao) and I hope to get painting in the kitchen, along with some kid time and taking advantage of the bonus xp weekend to make some ground on my alts. I hurt my neck this morning though so I hope that doesn't get in the way all weekend.

Whatcha got?

Suck it, Neph.

Serious question that I don't know the answer to. Recognizing that it's not nearly as common as in the US, are there Canadians who obsess over the flag and nationalism and how great Canada is compared to the rest of the world, or is pretty much just a few fringe whackos?

I will do what I always do on the 4th July: go to Buckingham Palace and mourn the loss of yet another colony, while tearfully singing God Save the Queen.

Other than that, I'm playing music with some friends tonight, playing football tomorrow, and for the rest it depends what the bloody fUcking weather is like.

I don't think it's as far gone, but these people aren't rare up here. And usually, it's not how great we are compared to the rest of the world, but how we're better than America. Regardless of validity.

Today marks the start of a 10-day weekend for me. No plans, just the fact that I don't have to set the alarm and go to work for 10 days is enough to make me all a-twitter.

As for the 4th, think we're just hanging out here today, then tonight we're going to a little festival they're having to eat, listen to music and watch fireworks.

Oh, there are certainly patriots in Canada as fervent as here in the US, but I'd definately say it's less ostentatious. Most Canadians are patriotic, I think, inasmuch as they are proud of their nation, proud of what it means to be Canadian and proud that we have a higher alcohol tolerance that most other nations. Except Britain, maybe.

Well, it's almost 10am and I've fed the baby twice, dropped him and given him a bath. We're going out for photos in a little bit then...probably not much else for the rest of the day.

Happy 4th peeps. We're just chilling here, I'll be taking Zavi to see WallE this afternoon, and Sickabilly is hankering for some mussels cooked in a white wine broth. He's out looking for the makings right now. Otherwise a quiet day on the homefront.

Tomorrow we'll be leaving the kids in Tares hands and running off to eat some glorious food, drink abundant levels of wine and relishing every second of it, in honor of Sickabillys birthday. He wants to be home early though so he doesnt miss raiding Smiley: disappointed

No plans yet for Sunday, except to make sure Zavi is ready for school. He starts first grade Monday morning. Oh. My. God. I feel really fucking old

Happy 4th!

Edit: having some peeps over for drunk firecracker activities!

I won't be having as much fun as previously thought, as I just sliced my damn first finger open cleaning one of those tilt out windows. TYPING sucks too. Good thing I can use my keyboard to turn in wow. Smiley: grin

Our diversion tactic was 100% successful.

1. In the 1700s, Spain controlled far more of your acreage than Britain did.
2. You spent 2 centuries gloating about fighting off the redcoats who'd decided we didn't want it anyway
3. The spanish snuck in and within 15 years you'll be reminiscing about when English used to be in use across over 20% of your population.

Feliz Cuatro de Julio! Viva la independencia!

Went to the inlaws in Clovis (central vally in CA). Spent the days drinking margaritas and sitting by the pool. Spent the 4th lighting off fireworks and drinking more margaritas.

Edit: on a more serious note... The wife wants to move to Clovis. we would be able to buy a home outright and she wouldn't have to work. Also, the school system down there is really good. a 4br/4bth with a pool goes from 200k-500k. Its looking like by this time next year we will be in our own home!

On Friday, Hannah and I went to my aunt's camp by the ocean and ate far too much food. We left there mid afternoon and proceeded to la maison de Smash for the remainder of the weekend. We went to the zoo on Saturday...I don't have pictures uploaded yet, and basically chilled out the rest of the weekend. Sunday included delicious Chinese foods.

Prices have dropped significantly in Central CA, Clovis in particular. Everyday I drive past tons of empty developments that are trying to give away homes. Next year is supposed ot be even worse as the next round of ARM's comes due. Good time to buy out here.
