Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how the possibility of instant exposure on YouTube seems to be prodding people--particularly teens--into doing more and more stupid stunts and awful things?

Like, say, launching an 8-month-old baby across a room.

I know someone will cry "he's only a teen, he didn't understand what he was doing!" but seriously, I hope this little prick goes to jail for a long, long time. And the cameraman needs to be charged too, if he's not already.

Now excuse me, Ima go hug my baby.

I'm pretty sure by the age of 5, I knew that was horribly wrong. Even if I was somehow ahead of the curve then, no way anyone in their teens wouldn't know better. Hope he's not tried as a juvenile.

That's what I'm afraid of. That was seriously the most horrifying thing I've seen in a very long time--for a moment it looked like the baby was gonna land on his head and snap his neck. I still feel nauseous nearly a half-hour after I watched it.

"Launching" is really rather strong language, Ambrya. I mean, the kid traveled maybe three or four feet, and never more than two feet off the ground. That can hardly be considered launching.

Anyway, I won't feel that this situation has been adequately concluded until we outraged peoples ruin this sixteen year-old child's life.

The baby is probably what, 1.5 feet long/tall? And he probably flew...oh, maybe 3.5 feet, yes?

So, let's say the kid is 6 feet tall...he looks like a tallish kid. Proportionally, we should be able to launch him 14 feet, right? I suck at math, so correct me if I'm wrong. Let's make this easy and say the kid remained roughly 1.5 feet off the floor, so the 16 year old should be launched 14 feet across from 6 feet high up in the air. He needs to be wearing only underwear, and to make it fair, he should really be blindfolded and have his feet and hands bound so that he can't adequately shield himself from the fall, since babies have no coordination.

We should be able to watch this repeatedly on youtube.

We'd have to wake him up out of a dead sleep in order to magnify the element of horror and surprise. His knowledge of what was to come might eliminate some of the integrity of the experiment.

Wake him up from a sound sleep the first time, sure. But afterward, doing it repeatedly might be more appropriate. First, because then he can adequately experience the dread of knowing what's coming, and try to crawl away from his tormentors like the baby was doing. Second, because I seriously doubt the video incident was the first time they did that. In all likelihood, they discovered the "stunt" by doing it--perhaps even by accident--and THEN decided to shoot a video of it.

I say we throw a burlap sack over his head, light it on fire and try to put it out with Kendo sticks. Kind of more exciting version of "Whack the Pin'ata!"

Agreeing with them won't get you laid, it only works them up into some estrogen fueled man-hating frenzy.

Yeah, I was pretty glad to hear that guy was shot and killed when they were trying to apprehend him. Save the taxpayers the trouble of a trial, since there's not much doubt of his guilt when he was clearly witnessed pummeling and kicking the toddler to death.

Of course we'll never know if and how the baby provoked him, either.

There is no justice.

Mr. Ambrya suggested that perhaps it might be more appropriate to use weight as the basis for our proportional punishment, rather than height. The teen looks a bit thin, so let's call him 150 lbs, 175 on the outside. 8 month old baby is, what, 25-30 lbs? That means his drop height and throw distance should be increased by a magnitude of 6 or 7, rather than just 4.

Either way, the idea is totally and completely made of win.
