After quiting WoW, I set forth on a journey to find some other pixel based time sink in which to, well, sink time in to. I feel like I'm in some sort of gaming limbo, nothing seems to hold my interest for more than a day or two. I can't tell if I'm just being picky or *gasp*, growing out of gaming. I've always enjoyed it as a hobby, but lately I feel like I am forcing my self ot paly rather than enjoying it. And with my 360 RRODed, I'm left wondering what to do. Anyone else in the same boat?
EQ2 - Played the Gey Fey. It was exactly the same game as WoW. Maybe I'll come back to it, but I wanted to see what else was out there. Couldn't think of any hook, except that it was slightly different and had a ton of content.
FFXI - Hell no, actually fired it up, took 2 hours just to get to anywhere worth leveling, an hour to get back after my party vanished. I don't have this much time.
LoTRO - So boring....tried playing during the free 48 hour promo and realized how utterly boring this game was.
AoC - Really enjoyed it, but way too many issues that were far too glaring to keep putting time against.
This is where I really started to get desperate...
CoH/CoV picked both up for $20, thought I would give it a run. Good god the cities are devoid of life except for people getting robbed every 2 steps by the same thugs. You can only use the same 2 powers for so long before it getting old quickly.
AO - What the hell, it was free. I'm sure it was a gem in it's time, but man it didn't age very well. Played for less time that it took to sign up for the membership.
GuildWars - 2 week trial with CoH purchase. Not bad, although the maps were simply the most frustrating things I've ever experienced. Everything is a path, monsters instant respawn everytime you exit a zone and come back, meh.
At this point, I had more fun creating WoW alts and just doing the same things over and over again. Knowing full well that everything was going to become worthless in November.
