Xaviers last day of kindergarten was today. 10 am we parents trooped in for a celebration with the kids and teacher. Zavi spent yesterday walking up and down our little downtown, hopping into every store looking for the perfect Thank You gift, all his own idea. He picked a sun catcher and gravely handed it to his teacher this morning. After the party I took him home, where he is now on "summer" vacation ( we're year round so he goes back July 9th I think to start first grade) playing PS2 and chilling out. Next week we head to Myrtle Beach for a few days of beachin'. I look at him now and realize he's no longer a little guy. he can read at a 3rd grade level, write even in cursive, is insanely good at math. His swimming skills have increased tenfold in just the past few months since we're at the pool so often. He's even learned how to play MMOs (boy, where'd that come from? Smiley: rolleyes ) and use the internet to get to his favorite websites (currently Hotwheels and PBS).

I'm so damn proud of him, but seeing how much he has grown in such a short time makes me feel really old right now. Im not ready to have a first grader in the house yet. Smiley: frown

Well everytime Ashe sinks his teeth into your arm/leg/finger/knee you can be reminded of the joy of having a little one around the house.

Yay!

Life is a circle . . .

At birth we are cared for.
We are wrapped in warm fuzzy blankets.
we are watched with a cautious eye.
We are told what to do.

In the blink of an eye. . .

The roles are changed.
Now we are caring for those who cared for us.
We wrap them in warm fuzzy blankets.
We watch them with a cautious eye.
We tell them what to do.

If we are lucky life will always be a circle.

I got a friend in Australia who thinks that sending nauseous stuff like this in to my in-box is the pinnacle of internet usefulness.

Its not! Its fucking shite.

You'll enjoy the gem I got this morning then.

A baby boy had just been born. He had all his parts and seemed quite normal,
Except that he was laughing, I mean laughing real hard.
All the doctors and nurses were examining the little guy, in front of his worried parents.
But he kept on laughing. His tiny fists all closed and tears rolling from his eyes.
One at a time, a pediatrician unfolded his tiny fingers to check if his hand was all right,
And...... Guess what he found?

Wow. Thinking of some of those milestones makes me almost break out into a cold sweat, or at least get a few goosebumps.

Thom is now just learning how to draw and color, sit up, crawl and eat rice cereal. He'll be four months in a week!
